I know some folks accidentally click on the "Parks" icon (trees) to get trees, when they are in the Landscaping and Disasters one (shovel). I still do it from time to time as well.
Go to 23:50 in the video above. Even Game Designers do it.
Also of interest, for those (myself included) who like to make our own parks (in-game freestyle, not in the editor) and would like them to be able to count for leisure happiness, Cknoor mentions making "non-park" parks at 24:40. Miska does not really seem to respond to that at all though.
We saw boats near the floating building ; I hope we will see those boats navigating between the floating buildings and the shore, and that they will also add boats for the already existing marinas, etc.
It would be disappointing otherwise.
What is already disappointing is the absence of new industrial specialization, and the trees/paths that don't count as parks. I hope they still have time to fix this, or this will be an other half-expension, like the previous ones.
The dev went on about the research he had to do for the new solar plant (solar updraft), and then went and described the existing solar plant (solar thermal). Good job researching it.
They interested me as well. Notably how cost efficient recycling is as a solution to garbage. In the tooltip from the video it has 240/w upkeep and processed the same amount of garbage as incinerators which cost 1400/w. Even with the 12 power the incinerator produces the power is at best 200/w mitigation of its cost. That is around 1000/w cheaper to process garbage than incinerators.
Non-green cities will use recycling simply because of the cheaper cost. I'd suggest to the devs they reduce the amount of garbage recycling can process to bring the cost/garbage ratio closer. Keep recycling cheaper per garbage than incinerators but require more so they take up more space as the cost. They are already larger than incinerators but not enough to justify 1/4 the cost.
