If Hyperloops are like Monorail
could it please be ploppable on top of currently existing roads instead of needing to replace roads, as I guess it'll unlock late game as well so that would make it easier to fit?

also, opinion of the ignorant coming in, is hyperloop a brand name? asking the internet seems to say its the PR name for spaceX's one not the generic name for the thing?

Strictly speaking the hyperloop isn't a new idea, its technically a vactrain which had been proposed as hypothetically possible since 1799. Its just the latest attempt.

Eh? I wasn't even talking about the hyperloop!

quoted the wrong guy sorry about that... Your proposals about how class and wealth would impact a green city were interesting though.

Off that topic how will we handle garbage in a green city? insofar the only vanilla ways to deal with garbage are landfills and incinerators. Both cause lots of pollution...

Heh heh, it happens. Thank you! :)

As for garbage, recycling will obviously play a very big part in reducing waste, so I'm guessing a recycling plant will make an appearance. Composting for food waste too.

I propose we dump it over the side of the Earth where it will disappear forever.

Wow, the expansion reveal on Twitch was really, really boring. From what was shown this should not be called a full expansion. It felt more like one of those mini-expansion like the High-Tech buildings or Match Day. A few new buildings, but nothing game-play wise. They built a custom park, but no mention about if it would function as one, and the way they built it was just as we've been building it previously with walking paths and trees (so no additional props added to the base game). No sign of the road editor either.

A plausible explanation, except this is a professional press release.
"Professional"? Yes, poor grammar? Yes! If you check out the various in game menu's and CO blurb over the past 2 years (including video presentations featuring the devs) you will see plenty of evidence to support the non native speaker theory. Must admit CO teams english is impressive when compared to my non existent Finnish! Not being critical- it's just that some stuff gets lost in translation/dodgy syntax and that even dodgier garbled european american english mash up our continental cousins learn from US TV shows! American "soft power"!

What? Are you kidding me? The assets I can download from the steam workshop and probably better than yours. The community was waiting for the "Events DLC " not this! Mariina/ Karolina what is happening here? why are you making bad decisions, like the concert dlc? Why ? If you are really smart to released a excellent DLC.

Well is to late to change the dlc theme decision, As truly fan we can only accept this Green Cities this time , But please do it well-complete!

1.-You need to included the free form parks a big requirement of the fans.
2.-the free form or bigger land farms that was promised from the development of cities skylines.
3.-the air pollution simulation ,( if simcity can do it why you not? Ass other fans says, the wind direction and pollution simulation, need to rule where to build the industry because the smoke travel) this is the most important feature, that's the theme of the Green cities, at least you need to try to bring it, yes I know is a core feature, like the seasons, but you are now more experienced and a bigger group an the support of the community, so CO can do it.
4.- the tree brush is so important and asked from the early days.
5.- The trees of MrMaison, this is important, contact to that modder a bring their trees assets to the vanilla game, are beautiful, accurate and very low poly, even replace the original trees with their trees. I know that you are including new trees, but talk to Mr Mansion and bring the top 5 trees , and replace the oak tree from the original game.

Ii don't want to Cities skylines lose their fans, like simcity 2013.

PD to the fans: I'm not trying to be rude or hater, I loved this game I am a vanilla/ dlc pc player ; that's why I don't want to see the bad reviews in steam like the concerts dlc, I want the game grows in the good direction . Maybe this dlc is fine but to another time, like in the future, the events dlc is something that we are asking from the beginning. "No body tells you to buy the dlc" is not the answer, I really want to buy all the dlc that CO released in the past, future and forever. But is difficult to buy something that it's not up to par , is like reward bad decisions. The money isn't the issue.

The mechanics of the game are the things that need to be improved, not the assets. We don need more "pretty" buildings . We need City challenges.

Those were the systems I was referencing. Don't get me wrong, I like it a lot. But there are a lot of people who complain about the features being locked behind pay walls
Difficult for me to quantify or judge the feedback you people get with different approaches. I know my spending habits, though.

The constant reevaluation and improvement of core mechanics (like in EUIV/CKII) brought me to a point where I am almost blindly ordering any DLCs. Because I can trust the devs will take care of what feels out of place sooner or later.
Quite the contrast to C:S where I am becoming more and more niggard and resentful with each time glaring and bugging quirks in the core mechanics are bypassed in favour of stuff noone was really loosing sleep over.

I am certainly in no position to tell PDX how to run its business. I must assume it works out like this just fine. Just wondering about this obvious discrepancy.

EDIT - Maybe this sums it up better:
At this point it feels almost like the devs are doing the modder´s job and vice versa. That´s weird.

What? Are you kidding me?
...I really want to buy all the dlc that CO released in the past, future and forever.
Why? When you go grocery shopping, you don't go out to buy everything in the store. You buy only what you wish to use.
Just buy what you can see yourself using in your cities and don't buy what you can't.
The mechanics of the game are the things that need to be improved, not the assets. We don need more "pretty" buildings . We need City challenges.
You're arguing for 3 different things here.
First you want better quality DLC's, then you ask for improvement in the game mechanic, without specifying what that would be and then you ask for more city challenges.
No DLC is going to change the game mechanic.
What changes to the game mechanic do you suggest?
If you want more city challenges, be creative and write your own scenario or subscribe to one created by somebody else.
Lastly, please stop speaking for the fans. Just speak for yourself.

1 & 2 was never promised to us. They found it to be interesting suggestions and I think it made it on the wish list. However that doesn't mean it's feasible to add to the game and since we don't have a mod doing it, I think we can safely assume it isn't something that would be added to the game with a little bit of code. It would be super cool to have no doubt, but it could be one of those things that really need to be planned from the start (if they need to rewrite half the game code to add it, they might as well make a whole new game). Taking a "that's an interesting suggestion" as a promise to make it is only gonna lead to disappointment (and is part of the reason other game companies don't say anything - and personally I love how much CO interacts with the community!)
3. They talked a little bit about it in the stream yesterday, but the dev on the stream wasn't on the team back when they picked what pollution to do. While I'd love to see this, I doubt we'll have it added. Following the philosophy we've seen so far I would expect this to be in a free update, which means lots of cities would suddently have to deal with a type of pollution, they were never designed to handle. Hopefully this will go on the wish list for a Cities: Skylines 2.
4. Agreed and this DLC would make sense to have it.
5. While I absolutely love MrMaison's trees and use a lot of them, I disagree on this point. MrMaison's trees are a lot heavier on the system than the basegame ones. He generally uses 1024x1024 textures, which is why they look so high res and detailed, while the game uses 256x256 textures. That means MrMaison's trees use textures 16 times as large as the default ones (no wonder there's a big difference in how they look ;) ). There's a lot of player who already struggle with RAM usage or weak graphics cards and such an increase in texture sizes would be noticed. I think it's a much better solution to have MrMaison's gorgeous trees on the workshop and the option to use them for those of us who have systems that can handle it. That said I'd totally buy a Content Creator pack with his trees! Then those who don't care for also wouldn't have them forced on them. ;)

Oh, and while some people don't want a DLC of "pretty buildings" that's actually also something I'd love! There's so many styles of buildings in the world I'd be happy with pure buildings, no extra features DLCs too. And if I look at Green Cities like that (ignoring the actual features it comes with), the amount of buildings and the look of them is something I want, which is definately part of why I'm excited about this one. So let's just stick to speaking for ourselves and not the whole community please. ;)

It has a service building "Recycling Center", and a monument "The Ultimate Recycling Plant".

recycling center and ultimate recycling plant.png

This is still beta I gather, so subject to change.
