This is really awesome! I am really excited to see this expansion pack. What about charging stations? Those would be great. Solar on building roofs. New transportation methods like Hyperloop and others.

New transportation methods like Hyperloop and others.

The Hyperloop is insanely impractical and even more dangerous. For a start getting a container down to an almost perfect vacuum takes a lot of energy, not to mention the fact your throwing people down a tube at the speed of a bullet that even the smallest hole in either the pressurized passenger compartment or depressurized tube will cause a catastrophic explosive decompression...


Also in the department of leveled specializations will it affect the sizes of plots in things like the lumber, farming and mining industry I've always wanted bigger fields larger tree plantations and large pit mines/quarries?


Lastly will we finally be getting a customizable parkland zone?

I would love to see free park zoning, that would affect local pollution, noise and happiness, depending on park area sizes and props (trees, benches, ...) on them.
Maintenance costs would also depends on the same criteria, off course.

The bigger problem with Hyperloop for the game is that it doesn't exist, and we have no idea how it would function if it did exist. How many passengers would fit? Is it like a bus? Is it like a train? Is it like a taxi? Is it like a microbus/mashrutka/sherut? Is it like a cable car?

Hmm... 350 new assets in all...
So, will this mean that the Store Page minimum spec requirements finally get's a revision?
This is because 4GB of available RAM seems more than a little tight. That might have been the case at the release in 2015, but now 6GB would be closer to the mark.

The bigger problem with Hyperloop for the game is that it doesn't exist, and we have no idea how it would function if it did exist. How many passengers would fit? Is it like a bus? Is it like a train? Is it like a taxi? Is it like a microbus/mashrutka/sherut? Is it like a cable car?

A simple explanation is that its a really long straight metal tube with the atmosphere pumped out and a cabin on a rail that is then shot at near the speed of sound from one end to the other, the idea is you can go crazy fast because there's no atmospheric friction to slow you down. Most proposed routs are in the order of tens to thousands of km. For in game distances we'd be talking nigh instantaneous travel. But as I explained earlier its extremely impractical at best and a guaranteed death sentence should anything go wrong because your in what is effectively a giant slug traveling at a speed that surpasses modern airliners at there fastest.

Thinking about this DLC, what would make it interesting would be if you can select what districts take on green policies. I kind of would like my more gentrified areas to have the ganja shops and the Priuses and stuff, but I'd also like to have the grungy areas too.

If anything, this expansion could lead into some interesting directions regarding social mobility and class in cities. Although this is aimed towards creating more utopian cities (which is something I feel Paradox should back away from) this could very well lead to interesting dystopian themes (which there really should be more of). At the mo, cities don't exactly feel real.

If Hyperloops are like Monorail
could it please be ploppable on top of currently existing roads instead of needing to replace roads, as I guess it'll unlock late game as well so that would make it easier to fit?

also, opinion of the ignorant coming in, is hyperloop a brand name? asking the internet seems to say its the PR name for spaceX's one not the generic name for the thing?

Hyperloop is the name of the technology. Companies like Hyperloop One, Arrivo, and SpaceX/The boring company/ elon musk are all developing their own versions if the hyperloop. I do agree that it would be somewhat impractical to add to the game because hyperloops only travel extreme distances, and arent currently in use in actual situations.
I really like the idea of zonable park areas. I always build big parks in my cities but they have no benefits. They say they are adding electric cars, but evs look and act just like ices. So im somewhat confused to what they might ve adding other than charging stations, which could either be added to existing buildings parking lots, be their own businesses that are exclusively charging stations, or be plopable stations that act completely different. What about a solar farm that actually looks realistic rather than the circular one which raraly actually exist.

I'm going to guess that some of the re-kajiggering of the pollution mechanics will mean that the game will now take IC emissions into account.
