It would be amazing to have a road editor (like the intersection editor) to create new types.

You select and paste lanes types (normal, bus, sidewalk, median, rail, rail or concrete for cars, median transforming into turn lane...) put some limitations (speed, vehicles, zonable...)

And the road is ready to use in the city.

@TotalyMoo @co_damsku @co_martsu what do you think? For the next tram and roads DLC

Good question. We'll be hosting an AMA with several devs next week. Save this question until then (we're super busy with AD right now)

Maybe CO are working on a tick-tock cycle. Every tock is a paid expansion, every tick is a free major update... maybe?

Nope, but we do try to poke in a larger sized update here and there!

Will we get AI service efficiency improvements (e.g.: similar to ARIS hearse AI mod)

You can use Advanced Vehicle Options (AVO) to increase service vehicles, like police and ambulances, acceleration and braking values, so they will be faster on the lanes. All vehicles have acceleration of 1, and braking 2, change these to for example 5 and 5 :)

Wouldn't increasing the speed help more than acceleration?

The vehicles can't go over speeds limits no matter if emergency vehicles.

But when and if they use more than one lane they can in braking and acceleration situations go faster.

Traffic++ has different speeds for lanes but it's buggy and never really worked.

Now Traffic Manager + Improved AI -mod will have features in the future similar with Traffic++ - but with less clutter.

There is a rail track speed mod in the workshop, with AVO I made my train lines (mostly international) high speed rail :)

Is the 25 tile mod still supported?

Suppose I start a new city now, unlock 25 tiles and start doing my city layout..I'm just doing roads for now while waiting for the dlc, will the 25 tile unlock still hold?

Well with only a short time until release why not hold off on starting a new city with the 25 tile mod.

I think most mods that has worked since spring are 99% likely to still work. And if not those will be updated in quick succession.

If I recall - one can open those 25 tiles and then delete the mod, the extra tiles won't be locked again for that city save.

Thx for all people commenting about mods on my questions.

The thing is: this thread is about the new "after Dark" Expansion, and I am asking about what's going to be changed , if anything, on those aspects in the base game. I know my way around the workshop along with many of you, and I am asking because I am aware of the mods, and would like to know if any of those were taken into consideration and based as inspiration for improvements, for a better experience in the base game.

Which this should be communicating about.

But your comments might be also useful for new comers reading the thread as well, not everyone knows about these mods. ;)

Just be prepared to back up your save games and disable all mods before launching your first game after the update download. Learning from past updates, this is just a reality for now. Some mods may break while others work fine. But most modders update their stuff pretty quick right afterwards. So far that's been a really good thing.
