I know, I know, this question has been asked many times before so apologies. I am new to this website and forums.

I have windows 8.1. It only started happening yesterday as I haven't played the game for a while, and last time I played I am pretty sure there were no crashes. To solve the crashes, a friend told me its the traffic manager mods, so I uninstalled them and also tried installing them the correct order. Crashed on closing. Uninstalled mods I subbed to yesterday evening. Crashed on closing. I used nvidia settings to optimise for this game. Crashed on closing. Why is it happening?

I read 2 things: It does not affect gameplay at all, just an annoying bug? but I havent tried saving or starting a new game and THEN saving as I am scared to lose the save if the whole game crashes or just doesnt work anymore.

Also I read that there is a solution to.. "-force-d3d9 to "Launch Options" field in Steam or something like that? Please help as I want to play the game withotu crashes

Also I read that there is a solution to.. "-force-d3d9 to "Launch Options" field in Steam or something like that?
In Steam right-click on this game and choose Properties. Click on Set Launch Options, and paste this in there:
-noWorkshop -disableMods -force-d3d9

That will disable all mods and assets; if the problem still happens it's likely an outdated video driver
http://www.geforce.com/drivers

You can then remove -noWorkshop -disableMods , but there's no reason not to leave the d3d9 one there.

Why would I paste the -noWorkshop -disableMod? I want to keep my mods. I dont want them to go? Its what makes the game playable and more enjoyable for me

Why would I paste the -noWorkshop -disableMod?
In order to diagnose whether your crashing problem is caused by mods or not.
