Hey Mosby, I got a new question for you. Is it possible to name metro stations/tram/bus stops etc?

Stops and stations are named after the roads they are on.

Here's my first attempt at a vid, showing a busline in 1990. It is a hurried 30 seconds video which I made with fraps. Don't know nothing about these sort of things....

View My Video

Argh How to embed them in a post?

The user interface looks pretty intuitive in that video.

Considering I can build a bus-line in 30 seconds, yes it is.

And a few high ress (watch them in 1080HD) clips, tram and underground. Excuse me for the terrible music, when I shot the first one I had no idea it would record the music playing outside CiM as well.

See post below....

Mosby, Tram you have choose on the film have Capacity 34 or 84(number is a little bit cut)? I think even it is 84 that number is too small. In the Traffic Giant first tram have capacity 120! I hope the CIM team do something with it, because for me this is not looking good.

Even though I'm not really a fan of techno music the "All aboard" did seem fitting. =P

Thought it was a nice 'joke' after I placed the "Time to Burn" behind the first clip. Will re-shoot that one.

You might like this book. :)

Good find, thanks! Looks quite interesting.

There will be a map-editor with the game so you can make those cities yourself.

Building Sydney out of the recycled blocks of European cities isn't particularly appealing, as the architecture differs and so, therefore, would the city's resulting ambience. It would also be missing the awesome landmarks, barring some sort of artistic cobbling-together of Amsterdam bus shelters to make the Opera House. :) Do you happen to know whether we can import 3D models whilst creating our custom cities?

Here are my Cities in Motion gameplay-vids. Best viewed in 1080HD and fullscreen. (Right click on video and click 'Watch on Youtube'. Then the resolution options are at the bottom of the video, and the full-screen button is available.)

Finally able to post! hurrah!

Love the vids pics and impressions Mosby good job!

One quick question regarding that last video. There looks like a freight train running at the start of the vid. a) is this actually a freight train or did i just see it wrong? b) If it is did you have any input into it or do they just run? c) if it is infact a passenger train, do you decide on the length and composition or is it fixed?

Sure to have a lot more Qs later!

I think he said somewheres that mainline trains are there for cosmetic reasons only.

Aha, here it is, first post:
Trains and plains are just there for the flavour, but they look nice
Though, this being beta still, things might yet change.

htilden is right, these trains are there only for cosmetic reasons (altough stations and airports generate passengers); CiM focusses on the public transport within a city, not the transport from city to city.

I think that the tram speed in the curve is way too high... I wouldn't go inside if it really goes at that speed...

I agree. In fact all vehicles appear to be going either way too fast or way too slowly (apart from the metro and trains, perhaps, they seem about right). Buses don't crawl their way to a busstop, at least none I've ever seen, and trams certainly don't whip round corners like a rollercoaster either. I suspect time compression may have been on, but in that case some things have to be sped up a lot. But, anyway, this is all stuff for last-minute polishing.

Ahh ok. In that case then another question comes up. Does this automated rail expand as the city grows or will the city expand around the existing infrastructure?
