Well, Mexico has to go, simply for trying to be red themselves. Yet does that condemn the ChiComs as well? :)

Paraguay too. I reckon that this is their cunning strategy to avoid invasion- colour themselves so similar that Stukov simply forgets them. It builds on their natural advantage of being completely forgettable in the first place.

--------------------------------------

Stukov's announcement of a new Constitution in the Soviet Union immediately took effect. What had just ten years earlier been a socialist dictatorship had become a hereditary monarchy with capitalist economics. It was interesting to note that Stukov had not really officially taken over power, but had simply been the only person willing to take the job. Under the new Constitution, he and his new wife had been crowned Emperor and Emperess by themselves. And since Stukov had eliminated the old Soviet government, there was no legitimate opposition. Stukov had in effect single-handedly scored an unprecedented political coup.

Power from the Imperial Throne was disseminated to regional governers. Each governer controlled and equal area of population, thus the sizes of each "province" varied. Each governor was personally selected by the Throne. Along with the governors, Imperial generals were placed in each territory to oversee enforcement of Imperial edict, and to prevent any disloyal behavior from governors.

Aside from general structure, succession, and balance of power, the Constitution was vague, leaving the Throne a large amount of freedom in its interpretation, which in turn bestowed even more power upon the Emperor. But there were several obvious problems. Firstly, though territories were equal in population, industrial and geographical size was not. Many areas were vastly unequal in industrial strength or mixed with several potentially volatile ethnic and cultural groups. Many people in the occupied lands, especially southern Asia and Africa fought to keep their way of life from being brainwashed out of them in government controlled education.

But of course the biggest problem was the lack of complete dominace of the world. On March 26th, the Emperor declared war on Finland and Mexico simultaneously. Over 50 Soviet divisions were along the Mexican border, fresh from victory over the Americans and 27 along the Finnish. Though not highly publicized, Stukov had managed in '44 to pressure the Finns to cede territory north of Leningrad. Finland had then lost its best defensive position and several well-constructed fortresses that could have easily repelled Soviet incursion. On March 29th, the 270,000 Soviets (some of them having been deployed here almost a decade ago) engaged 170,000 Finnish in Helsinki. After two days of brutal fighting, the Finns were expelled from the capital, and the Soviets marched on.

On the 7th, two battles were won. Eremenko defeated the retreating Finns at Turku while Chihuahua fell. Monterrey fell on the 12th with little trouble, though it was suprising to note more casualties were being suffered than against the USSA. Hermosillo fell on the 14th, opening up the entire country to attack. On April 17th, the Soviet forces in Finland marched north along the coast and siezed Pori. Mannerheim fell without a shot on the 20th. Eremenko continued northward and attacked Vaasa, where the Finnish government was hiding in exile. The survivors from Pori were in no condition to combat the Soviets, which outnumbered them by 60,000. Vaasa fell on the 23rd and Finland surrendered. Though it didn't really matter, Stukov had taken back all of Russia's land lost after World War I.

Meanwhile, in Mexico, the Soviets scored two victories on the 18th, defeating Mexican forces in Veracruz and Mexico City. Their forces were now in disarray, and the Soviets continued marching. Culiacan was attack from Hermosillo on the 23rd. The fighting was heavy for such a demoralized and outnumbered force but on the 25th, the city fell. San Luis Patosi fell on the 26th. Much to the shock of the Soviet command, Veracruz was retaken by Mexican forces that was retreating from Monterrey. Guadalajara fell on the 28th with little resistance. Veracruz was retaken on May 3rd, and Mexico was all but defeated. Without any hope of victory, Mexico surrendered, and was annexed just like all the others.

--------------------------------------------

Stukov wasted little time. Immediately after the Imperial victory in Mexico, war was declared upon Cuba. Soviet marines landed on the outskirts of Havana on the 6th, but were driven off by 130,000 Cubans. The primary force arrived one day later, comprised of 50,000 Soviet marines. Taken by suprise, the Cubans fared worse in this second battle. And by midmorning on the 8th, the western portion of the island fell, and the country surrendered, annexed as usual.

The fact that so many people spoke up in opposition to a four day war frustrated the new Imperial government. Though he had originally gained more power through glasnost, the other shoe had fallen, and people were speaking out, unneccesarily vocally, against the war. This showed plainly the massive ignorance of these Imperial citizens. Their entire nation's existence and prosperity was built upon the conquest of over half the world, and now they were protesting "blatant aggression" in a war won in less than a week.

Soviet forces in Finland and Mexico began redeploying once again. Plans were drawn up for invasions into Central America, Sweden, and Saudi Arabia (troops had been stationed in Kuwait since before the United States fell), and long ignored Romania. Secretly, Soviet freighters to Uraguay were transporting large numbers of Soviet troops, 200,000 by June, into the country, which had graciously given military access in exchange for its existence, for the time being.

Each plan followed the same basic idea of limiting the cost and length of the war. A total war would only prove to be a burden to rebuild a shattered provence, and the native populace would hold a long resentment of dominion. Each invasion, Stukov hoped, would prove so succesfully and so stunningly decisive that the nationalism for that defeated nation would be extinguished. This had worked perfectly for Japan, China, Britain, France, and Germany, and had saved the Empire unimaginable amounts of men and material.

For Sweden, war would come from every direction, including several amphibious landings in the south and blitzkrieg in the western section. War with Saudi Arabia would simply be a rapid march along the Persian Gulf followed by a 90 degree turn inward towards the capital. Plans for Central America were even less vague, as the idea of a nation such as El Salvador or Guatemala resisting half a million of the best soldiers in the world seemed ridiculous. The only thing stopping Stukov was the dissent.

DEATH TO TANA TUVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

btw, a minor side note in OTL tanna tuva was incorparated into the USSR in 1944 iirc. nobody ever bothered to make an event for this..... their insolence in not properly devoting half my hard drive to tanna tuva events must be avenged with the nuclear destruction of tanna tuva to cover up this mistake....

THE ENTIRE WORLD WILL BE PAINTED IMPERIAL RED-MARROON-PURPLISH!!!

if you can't conquer the world by 1948, is it possible that the no time limit mod could be applied? i'm not sure if you could do it with a savegame or not...

I say that on Dec 30th, 1948, you have a grand finale and send every single province not in your control into nuclear oblivion. :D

That'd be awesome.

Mettermrck: It never really lived in the first place.

Churchill2004: There's an event somewhere in CORE that brings up the Soviet annexation. Time limit mod? I'm trying to finish before then.

anonymous4401: Aye, it would.....if it were possible.....

biffthewhite: Tannu Tuva.....Russia's Vietnam? :p

Morpheus506: That's impossible.

----------------------------------------------

July 15th, 1946

Stukov stood, hands held at the small of his back, in front of the world map, of which the ever-growing Empire was taking more and more of. His Imperial armies had turned their wrath upon Sweden, declaring war on June 5th.

His armies had marched confidently into battle, feeling assured of victory.

How wrong they had been. The attack from Finland towards Lulea had resulted in calamitous defeat. Two Soviet armies were repelled from Stockholm, and the thrusts from Oslo had been slow. The only major success was the eventual victory at Carlstad and a bloody but succesful amphibious landing in Malmo. Swedish forces had then pushed into central Norway. To regain the initiative, Soviet forces had landed south of Stockholm from Mannerheim and cut off the Swedish army in the south, and nine new tank divisions were moving in once again at Lulea.

Stukov turned from the map and nearly bumped into Azuren. Suprised, he lost his balance and fell backwards, managing just barely to hold himself up against the map. He winced slightly from a dull pain in his arm.

Azuren giggled animately, "So graceful for an Emperor."

Stukov rolled his eyes and smiled, "I, uh.....never mind."

"You can give impromptu speeches to millions of people, but you still trip over your words when you're talking to a woman."

"They're easier to talk to," Stukov glanced to the pile of papers on his desk. The conversion from absolute dictatorial socialist state to dynastic monarchy capitalist state had taken miles of red tape, and it was wearing him down.

Stukov manuevered around Azuren and sat down in one of the chairs, looking up at her, "So how was the visit home?"

She shrugged, "It was good. Not much has change, fortunately. The occupation between wars wasn't too hard on them."

Stukov nodded absently, "I never really had a home, or a family...."

Azuren sat down next to Stukov and stroked his arm, "Well, I'd say you turned out for the better. Genius, scientist, Emperor..."

"Some would say murderer too."

She smiled and kissed him on the cheek, "So would I...not that I care."

Stukov beamed with delight, "Have you thought about what we should invade next?"

Azuren smiled, "This'll sound silly....but I thought we might want to get rid of...."

"Brazil? Romania? Portugal?"

Azuren shook her head, "Not even close."

"Then what?"

"Tannu Tuva," she said, grinning.

Stukov stared at her blankly. He held up his hand, "Just a minute," he quickly got up and looked the map over.

"Let's see...." he mumbled at he examined the globe, "Ah! Here it is! Tannu Tuva," Stukov looked at it more closely, "Not much of anything there..."

Azuren began laughing, "I'm sure mighty Tannu Tuva will be a worthy challenge for our armies."

Stukov sighed, "Maybe I'll have the Mongolians annex them."

Mettermrck: You do, of course, realize I control Mongolia's armies?

ThewEiRdOne27: Today Ulanbatar! Tomorrow the world!

Churchill2004: And I quote from page 1....

Slight modifications have been made to prevent A-Bombs from being used.

In other words, NO NUKES!!!!!! I have changed the production times for them so that they CAN NEVER BE BUILT.

------------------------------------

July 16th, 1946

The streets of Moscow were silent and dark at 1 A.M. Few, if any, people were out. The city wasn't known nowadays for its nightlife. The Emperor's palace, the Kremlin, seemed to loom ever larger over the city like an ominous predator, ready to strike at those who dared resist the awesome power weilded from its black heart.

From a balcony overlooking Lenin's Mausoleum, at one time Russia's most sacred place, workers and Guardsmen went about their buisness. Their buisness, however, was to remove Stalin's corpse and bring it to Georgia.

Azuren quietly stepped up behind him, her steps graceful and regal, "What will happen to his body?"

Stukov shrugged, "Once at Georgia, it won't be my concern. I just want to get rid of it, and his homeland seemed the best place for it."

"I'm suprised you didn't get rid of it sooner," Azuren commented neutrally.

Stukov smiled, still staring outwards, "Stalin's "popularity" is really only now starting to decline with the Gulags being emptied and Glasnost. Lenin will remain untouched, a nice symbol for me to attach onto our throne."

Silence fell between the two rulers, a gentle wind picking up, sending Azuren's hair blowing.

Stukov turned to face her, his face half shadowed and half lit, "What did the doctor say?"

Azuren sighed, sagging noticable, "Nothing still."

Whether by good fortune, or because of some genetic problem, Azuren had yet to become pregnant. It wasn't known who's problem it was, or if it was a problem at all, but after so long of being together, and the need for an heir to the throne, their need to sire a child was growing greater.

Stukov shook his head slightly, "Well, we've certainly tried."

Azuren laughed, "And all that for nothing," she joked.

"You wound me," Stukov turned back again, gazing out over the city, "Regardless, the time is drawing close where the next phase in my designs for humanity draw to be set into action."

Azuren knew what he was talking about, and it was literally mass genocide. She simply smiled, "They won't expect it."

"They won't know until it's too late," Stukov's mind became filled with the horrors he planned to unleash. The screams of millions wailed in his thoughts, and the fires that would follow the rivers of blood burned deeply in his eyes.

Only they knew what would be in store, and neither cared.
