As noted in the 1.2 sticky at the top of the page, one should always start a completely new game after updating a Paradox game to a new post-patch version. So much changes that playing older savegames will cause problems, as the data in the savegames is based on settings in the old version of the game which may no longer be relevant to the newer patch.

This is good advice for any game you play from Paradox, not just HoI3. Always begin a new game when you update to a new patch.

I did start a fresh, new game but that alone did not solve the issue.

What i did exactly:

1.) Patched to 1.2
2.) Loaded an old save and played a few ingame months
3.) Exit this old game to the main menue (BUT DID NOT CLOSE HOI!)
4.) Started a new game.

I think there is a bug between Step 3 and 4.
It seems that HOI did not free the used memory / data structures and carries them over to the new game.
That would be a reason for the huge save game files after starting the new game.

No need to reinstall if you have a working installation patched to 1.2.
Only close HOI (if open), delete/move your old saves, restart HOI and play a new game.

it seems solved...

RE-installed , and the 1.2 installed without 1.1 c

ok
it seems ok...
sometimes littles swap that is nerve-racking
but it's more playable

Updat
Save a game
restart the saved game
more lags and freezes ...

this is a bug...

I can't notice any difference on my 2 PCs from 1.1c. Fresh reboot, plenty of harddrive space (over 40%) free.

I started a new game on each, Germany 1936. I did nothing make a trade with the USSR to keep germany from running out of metal and rares. Then, I zoomed into an atlantic ocean province and set the game to max speed.

On my desktop, each month took about 5 minutes but was up to 8 minutes by the end of 1936. so, 1936 took about 75 minutes to "play" when I did absolutely nothing. The slowdown continued to escalate with 1938 taking 2 hours to "play".

On my laptop, I got the same escalting results, only they were faster. 1936, for example, took only 40 minutes to run.

I considered the 1936 laptop speed to be acceptable and I'd be willing to play the game like that. 1938 speed was a gamebreaker and will keep this one on the figurative shelf.

These were pretty much the same results I have before 1.2. Imagine how long it would take if I actually did something radical, like play the game.
