hmm, still not "good". Im in mid 36 now (May), and at full speed, go through a day in 3 - 4 or so seconds. Sometimes there is a little "stop", which can bring a day cycle up to say 6 or so seconds.

Do you have anything set to AI control ? (for example your theaters, trade, production, etc etc ?). This im sure could be contributing to stuff going a tad slower, i run all manual (apart from autosliders --> prioritize production).

No, everything is fully manual for me, and that speed was in the simple terrain mode as well :wacko:

Haven't tried it windowed yet, and my computer could probably do with a defrag and clean up, but I don't think that'd make much difference

I run with the political map enabled (not that i imagine it will make any difference).

Try running the game on only one CPU. This solved the majority of my lag issues even before 1.2 .

Your system is pretty much identical to mine so it could help.

Omg if this is true, it's a big BUG


edit, the game with this method is a little better, but it's unacceptable to me, to play this kind of game with lag or freezes

As for me, the game is still suffering from massive slowdown over time. It seems that there is still a leak somewhere in the interface, esp. production and leader selection screen slow it to a crawl when used on a regular basis.

Regular game performance is better, though not as good as with the community fixes.

Yeah the game still suffers from memory leaks, but it's alot better than 1.1 , so hopefully by 1.3 its history.

With this type of game a even moderately fragmented disk can slow down the game. It uses a lot of disk space for virtual memory. I suggest you defrag your disk then check.

i can assure you that with i never had Freezes and lag in 1.1c
the game in 1.1c was slow for sure

Only reason to get total freeze is that your Hard Disks are over stretched, ie too slow or too many programs use em nonstop. I really cant think about anything else.

I myself have a raid setup with my HDs and i have 0 freezes and 0 problems on the time thing, only after 3-4h of gameplay there is some slowdown in mapmode moving the map around (lag).

But other then that its fine.

Example,

Having a 200gb HD and freespace below 20GB means you should make room to the HD (c drive). and Defrag after.

ive noticed in some games that when your HD space is low, the game starts to stutter in performance.

And if you have multiple drives, installing the game in C drive might boost performance a bit, but dont install anything else in C drive, only the operating system, ok ?

Puuh,

1. Update your windows to so that it does not want to update anything more ( http://www.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/ )
2. Update your drivers, (motherboard and craphic card)
3. Reboot
4. Clean your comp with ( http://www.ccleaner.com/download )
5. Reboot
6. make sure your C: drive has more then 20% empty space in it
7. Play the game

? if it still stutters and lags, then you have something really wrong with your hardware, like memory or cpu or motherboard.

Motherboard ? what model is it ? i can check if it has any reported problems if you give me the model.
