I find that things do slow down gradually, but once the war starts I don't mind slowing down as things are very busy anyway. Personally, my big gripe was with interface lag when messing about with leaders, which is fixed! :):):)

Not yet past 1936, so i cant say. I used to have to restart the game after a complete reorganisation though (always take out practically every leader, then "rebuild" from the ground up), and now that seemingly goes fairly painlessly (some slowdown, but very little). Overall a huge improvement by the looks of it.

It seams like the more the Theathre AI works the more lag u get. The Lag is so harsh that its like 10-20 times slower during war, compared to load a savegame. (But i am busy anyway in this moment, so i don`t mind it to much)

But anyway PI improved the game so much, that i actually enjoyed a whole game on an single day. And there is a day and night difference with gameperformance compared to 1.1.

anyone still get chronic lag in v 1.2, playing germany and right in thick of thing 1939

after 4h of uninterruptable gaming, i had slight stutter when having the game on full speed when moving the camera to any direction. BUT :D lol that not a big issue. 4h 100% nice performance, i assume i can reload once in 4h =)

i noticed that the speed PRE-war is increased significantly (yeah!!)

But then i loaded up a SU 44 game and there is a LOT of lag. Probably because it is a large front and i set many things on AI.
Scrolling is better though, even with hardcore front-clashes.

All in all i think PI did a pretty good job, still i think a lot can be improved. My computer isn't state of the art anymore but CPU/MEM etc. arent maxed at all.

I got a pretty good machine and everything ran smooth up until sept 1941. Even patch 1.1 was smooooooth (1.2 is better though). but for some reason around the timestamp above the game started to stutter like crazy. Were talking 10 seconds for 2 ingame hours at top speed. This went on for 2 ingame months now with no end insight :/.

Only thing i can imagine happened was that the US landed troops in west europe .. about 10 divisions. But that wouldn't be the first time.. they landed 50 divisions before and got kicked out.

Bought from Gamersgate, patch went to the right place, 1.2 is displayed in the checksum
Try running the game on only one CPU. This solved the majority of my lag issues even before 1.2 :).

Your system is pretty much identical to mine so it could help.
I'll give that a shot

How do you run something on only one core? I guess i'm a noob cause i can't find an option on it.

In the Task manager, right click on the process and choose set priority, or something along those lines

"Set Affinity", on the Processes page.

Ctrl-alt-del. Go to the process, right click. Then click on 'affinity' and deselect your second CPU. You can also set the process to 'high priority' meaning your computer will (supposedly) focus resources on that program first before others.

This really helped me. I think the lag might actually be to do with the steam version of the game. When you install 1.2 you don't even need to go through steam anymore, you get a new shortcut to use.

Well, only allowing my computer to use one CPU got the daily time down to 6-8 seconds from about 10-12.

This sound about right for my system now? Still a bit slow for my liking in 1936 compared to HOI2, but then, you can't have everything
