Expanding the Helicopter tech!!

I read that 1st working army helicopter (Focke-Wulf Fw 61) was made by a German in 1936... and the advances started from there...
You can read 1 page about all the helicopters and improvments during ww1-ww2 here

And i'd like to see SS troops have alot more morale then regiular infantry.
becouse they were Fanatics. cheers

Even by 48 you wouldn't have a combat capable group of choppers.

ooh but a nuclear subamrines you could...

If u give everything you got on chopper research from 1936 you would have
combat capable group of choppers by the start of the war.

Uh.
Even today there is no such thing as a choper division.
The biggest unit would be a regiment or a brigade.
And thats in this day and age where there is such a thing as an attack chopper.

A nuclear submarine came out at least a decade if not 2 before the combat helicopter(Slick i guess). So Submarine is WAY more realistic than a Division of ninjas or whatever you asked for.

haha!! it doesent have to be a division of 500 choppers. it can be a small squad... Like the dambusters. Only these things are tank Busters.
They would be more useful then most units in HoI.

or it doesent have to be in the Build menu. it can be an extra add for Infantry or mechanized troops. like very close air support.

I want lasers and plasma-guns and teleport-units!

But really: HOI is a _strategy_ game. In strategy games you decide about strategies to win a war, and not about every weapon that your units have!

WTG - but can I still have photon torpedoes?

Choppers were only utility vehicles until late in the Vietnam war (the last 10 years in the Vientnamese 30 years war). 1970-ish.
The controlls to steer a chopper are very complex, and the recoil from, say a LMG, f*cks that steering up.
A nuclear (nukilar) sub is just a sub with a different type of drive, an attack chopper is a chopper with a different concept + drive + controls + weight + profile (= 20 years and 2 wars to develope). In other words: A whole different ball park.

Not going to happen (I hope).

BTW Though it's in the FAQ, I want a time machine! ;) and exoskeletons, and mechas...

How many ARMED helicopters were made by 1947?

1?
2?
3?

....

Autogiros and unarmed one or two man helicopters existed on an experimental level.... But whole fleets of them?!!? By 1947?

How many ICBM, how many VTOL fighters, how many super heavy tanks, how many nuclear submarines, how many nuclear plants, how many jet strategic bombers etc. etc.

It's a game i think - not a real II World War simulator.

Actually i'm pretty sure the use of helicopters was in the field and more than just experimental.
All just recon/unarmed type of airborne work.

No MGs and squads spilling out or menacing Airwolf weaponry.
Though i want those as well as CYBORGS! Ninja cyborgs!

Choppers in the Vietnam war were used to provide fast transport to Infantry and Marines... This way not only the paratroopers get to ride an aircraft.
Wouldnt that be great. Faster move trough land. Take over Russia and Africa with a few quick landings instead of 4 months walk trough the tundra or desert. kickasssssssss

I would like to be able to create divisions of naked beserkers. Just add 'combat nudity' and 'war paint' to the land combat doctrines.

hey HoI2 is a game. doesent have to be correct... you can make your own history. if there were choppers, that would be the 1st thing i build. I would take over the world with Sweden!! Yeeehaa!!
look at the USA now... they destroy an Iraqy Panzer division with just 10 Apachees HAHAHAHAHA. nothing negative with them. cheap, strong and useful.
