Hello,
I've been in the mood to do a ck2 aar for awhile but i've been waiting until I was good enough. Well that is not the case but my impatience won out so without further adieu, my CK2 aar (almost)

Threw in the title pun (a bit forced) since that seems popular

I am indecisive when choosing countries (takes me literally 20+ min and several choices then resigns) so, the count, duke, king or emperor I play is up to you, to a point, as the ruler must be christian. I usually play dukes with few vassals but voting will win out. A few notes. I am havent played enough to be dominant so being destroyed and the aar ending early is a definite possibility (especially if you readers connive and I end up beginning between a rock and a hard place).

Some personal goals (feel free to suggest)
- same dynasty throughout (duh)
- get primogeniture succession (hate gavelkind so i'll prob end up going for elective at first, dont worry it wont make it easier for me)
- tell a 3rd person limited story (I completed an eu3 aar and it was all gameplay so need to switch it up since gameplay can turn boring, mine did)
- finish (I get distracted/updates every 5/10/20 years depending on excitement they contain)
- vassals are family only (eventually...)
- I will legitimately attempt to rule as though I was a medieval lord (with the same traits (this will probably fail))
- max demense (i'm greedy)

Also, feel free to critique my writing to the fullest force, constructive or otherwise (I'd prefer constructive :D). Also give me a heads up if I write too much

And of course in true choose adventure form, i will have options to take after each update and highest vote wins (or if someone has an awesome idea I will go rogue and do that)

Number 2 m'lord (guess that movie)
Finally I promise to have less parentheses once the AAR begins so...vote a ruler, any (christian ;) ruler)

Cheerios, I'll check back Sat or if I am too "in the christmas spirits" Sun and start (so 1st update Sun/Mon ish)

Ahh just saw the interactive forum thread, guilty with the "just kinda figured that meant multiplayer aar or something". Anyway, readers you may now only suggest rulers (in vain, shhh it's a loophole) until I choose one Sunday before my first update and you will get no chosen adventure options unless cleared by moderator, which I will attempt to do now.

(no delete thread?)

Start as the Count of the Isle of Man!
You're Irish, your population is Norwegian, your son is the Irish ruler of Scottish Galloway, your grandson is the Irish ruler of Scottish Carrick (they inherit, of course).
First 20 years may be tough, but the Duke of the Isles is busy with the Scots; when you get Galloway and Carrick you can make Clydesdale, or even usurp the Isles.
Then invite claimants or fabricate claims and go for Ireland.
Alternatively, if you're a good player, swear fealty to Scotland, take Clydesdale, and go for Moray and Lothian, then usurp Scotland (all the while taking counties in Ireland). In no time you'll have 2 kingdoms (I went from being a 3-county count to a 2-kingdom king in 35 years with King Conn the Bold, god bless his soul, who ruled for 62 years, from the age of 21).
Then you'll be in an excellent position to take Wales and England; and remember, ROLEPLAY, and keep those borders CLEAN!

GOOD LUCK

I'd like to emphasise keeping borders clean as well. I'm one of those people who have massive border-OCD (for example, if the duke of York had some Persian province )

Ad for a ruler - I've actually had a really good play through with a Manninian count (I didn't realise he had ll those relatives, as he was ruler designed.) Within 100/150 years, the Ua Briua Seola dynasty ruled all the Celtic lands (and Brandenburg, which REALLY annoyed me :))

Hopefully this will get cleared by a mod - good luck :)

I say you play as Geza Arpad, Uncle to the King of Hungary, Duke of Nytria and Slovakia.

That number two reference is of course Shrek.

Play as Duke Roger d'Hauteville of Apulia in the Stamford Bridge scenario.
Lots of opportunists for expansion, was in fact the first country I ever played in a Paradox game and had some slight knowledge of what I was doing, having gotten a recommendation from this beginner's guide to CK1, so I think you should go for that if you're not all that good at playing.
Make this a narrative, I'm just greedy I suppose.
