What examples can you think of where different colours could be used in HoI4 in order to make the game more enjoyable?

The first times I played HoI4, I had a lot of trouble with the focus tree. I could not tell which focuses were available, I could not tell which focuses I had done, I could not tell which focus I was doing, and I could not tell which focuses were greyed out (unavailable.) It was all because the colours were unintuitive.
The colour scheme for the focus trees ought to be revisited. The current scheme is:
Available: silver
Current focus: sparkly something
Finished focus: yellowish brown
Unavailable: dark brown
Silver in particular is a terrible choice for an "available" focus, because silver/grey is the general "unavailable" colour both in Windows and in the game's own tech tree!
Tech tree colours:
Available: yellowish brown
Current: animated
Finished: green
Unavailable: silver
Do you see a conflict there? I do.
This confused me a lot when I started, I always thought that green factories would be civilian.Colour prayer:

- Change civilian factories to a peaceful green.
- Change military factories to a martial red.
For red is the colour of the god of War.

Its my dream for Nationalist China to be a beautiful ROC blue instead of that ugly yellow.
I just wish the country colors would stay the same regardless of what path you take. I appreciate that the devs took the time to change Canada to red from white, but this problem could have been completly avoided if they kept the same colors regardless of what form the country takes. The same is true for Bulgaria and Turkey changing colors when they restore their respective Empires, why not just keep it the default Green and Cream? What examples can you think of where different colours could be used in HoI4 in order to make the game more enjoyable?
Also, any country whose colors are currently the exact same as another country (Liberia and Ethiopia come to mind) should be changed as soon as possible. That's just lazy, and at worst, confusing should those countries ever border each other, even though that is unlikely.
Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD.But...but...but...
One of mathematics favorite accomplishments is to prove that only 4 colours are necessary to colour countries on a map.
Check out #9.

The four colour theorem is highlighted here in a run down of mathematicians' favorite theorems:
Looks like your EU4 wedding spree paid off...Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD.
In other words: From a mathematical point of view that's a really great thing. But from a "common sense" point of view it isn't. When you look at a (geographical) map - especially on a strategic map in a war game - then you want to know at a glimpse which areas belong to you and which belong to your enemy. If you know that France is "blue" (as in most PDS games at least) and you see some random blue spot in Africa then you know that this random blue spot belongs to France. If you limit yourself to a four color map then "blue" is meaningless.
/edit: Here's such a four color map of Europe. Imagine that in HoI...

Are you talking about the terrain map mode? Because mud does show on the map in the normal map mode. It turns the province brown and covers it with vehicle tracks, footprints, and, well, mud. Rain is invisible unless you turn on weather effects in the settings menu, where it is an animated effect over the map in areas where it's raining.Mud is invisible.

But then again, you can also turn off rivers and other very relevant-to-gameplay terrain in the settings menu. I wonder how someone would play the game and plan any sort of defense if they had rivers turned off? For those interested who haven't seen it before, Russia looks like this without rivers:

That mud in my screenshot is on the main F1 map mode, weather animation effects like rain and sandstorms play regardless of the map mode as far as I am aware. Here's a screenshot in the main map mode with the map zoomed out, it's fairly easy to see which provinces have mud to me(sorry for the general lack of it in the screenshot, it's not currently the proper season for it in the game I'm observing, so it's only in a few provinces). Thanks for the info!
If the developers would take suggestions, I would like to be able to see terrain, weather, and effects on the F1 map, whichever that one is. Sorry, I am away from my computer. Since the game is not a turn based game, it would be nice if important information like that was immediately noticeable on the map I use the most.
It is nice to know that if I suspect there is mud out there that I can zoom in on the terrain map to find it. It is not user friendly, for me at least.

Edit: here's another screenshot after some time has passed. Notice the clouds where there's rain, and how there is more mud present, scattered across Russia. View attachment 655247
