I took a look through the events folder and didn't see anything regarding a Chinese surrender to Japan (although I did see Japan surrenders to China) with the option of becoming a puppet or annexed outright, along with the other minor Chinese states (GClique, Shanxi, XSM ...). I'm curious as to why this was changed since it made the war much more tolerable knowing that there was an end in sight which didn't require ever (stinking!) VP province. Was the decision to not include based on a historical basis (China would never surrender in totality) vs. a gaming aid for Japans player?
If I understand the route correctly, Japan can either DoW Nationalist China dissent free during the GClique/NatChi war or during the Marco Polo Bridge incident. The option I chose was the former, and don't know what would've happened if I waited until '37 Marco Polo. I'm curious though if in either case I would have to make multiple DoW for Shanxi, Yunnan, et al and require to suffer a dissent hit each time or if I very much did stray off the proper historical track which would've allowed me to be at war with all of China without multiple dissent hits?
