This AAR is really great. Just finished reading it all the way through and am very glad you decided to keep it going.

War Plan Azul: Part 4

The Siamese armies were easily routed by the superior soldiers of the PLA,

On February 19, 1946, the PLAN got it's baptism by fire. The Royal Siamese Navy never stood a chance.

Things did not, however, continue to go so well. The Fascist nation of Japan took issue with the sincere attempt for the Chinese government to liberate the people of Siam, and declared war, starting the 3rd Sino-Japanese war. "May the war go as well as the last war with Japan, and may there never be another!" said Chairman Mao to the nation on the radio broadcast informing the people of the news.

The foolish Nationalist government on Taiwan sided with the Japanese. Did they really think that Japan would allow them to rule China if by some miracle they achieved victory?

On February 23, the PLAN engaged in its first real battle. It was a resounding success, resulting in critical damage on only one Chinese ship in return for sinking a Japanese battlecruiser.

In response to the Kuizhou being damaged, six new light cruisers were commissioned.

On March 9, the Ship Product Design Branch developed the most modern aircraft carrier that could be developed for some time. Chengdu Aircraft Industry was assigned to create a practical turbojet engine to be fitted onto the PLAN's aircraft.

That same day, the PLA took Bangkok.

Great to see your aar back on track, Roderico! And a promise of weekly updates, too! :) I wish you luck against the Nationalists in Taiwan... they are stacking quite a few troops there...

Actually, it is so that I can afford to keep trying to steal blueprints from Japan.

Why not just trade supplies for money with the US or another free market country? It's far more industrially efficient that way (unless you're at war with them and I've forgotten about it, in which case disregard this post).

War Plan Azul: Part 5

With Bangkok taken, the Siamese government was all too ready to hand over power to a new, communist, government. The Siamese ministers, however, only changed the way the government functioned, leaving themselves in power! Chairman Mao was furious, but there was nothing that China could do.

Japanese aircraft were responsible for the elimination of a damaged PLAN ship.

On March 16, 1946, the PLAN intercepted a Japanese transport fleet. The destroyer escorts were easily dealt with, and two Japanese transport flotillas were sent to the bottom of the ocean.

A similar event occurred the next day.

Two technological innovations occurred on March 20th. Fang Tsi-yi developed an operational destruction doctrine for the aircraft of the PLAN, and began working on a Logistical Strike doctrine. Gongye Hezhoushe improved the logistical efficiency of the PLA, and CMC Headquarters Airforce began developing a monoplane fighter to replace the incredibly out of date Polikarpov I-15s.

On March 21, the PLA Headquarters issued directive 023 codenamed Operation Orange Sea. The PLAN 1st transport fleet, loaded with 7 divisions, would sail to one of Japan's naval bases and seize it for the PLAN's use. The main fleet would cover their movement and protect them from Japan's numerically and doctrinally superior, yet technologically inferior, navy.

Um... Okay, today's update might not come today. The game has reached where I've played to, and it (Doomsday with that specific configuration) hasn't been installed on my computer in a while - its on a network drive which my computer says is currently unavailable. Until I can once again access the drive and transfer the game to my computer, I can't make any updates because I can't play.

Argh. Quite frustrating.

Gah! Fix it!
