Unstoppable, spamming, impotent, Pirate Raids
Inescapable Celestial Empire mechanic, even for a fully Westernized, Innovative, free, centralized populace (all of which my current game are ... to the max on each slider)
Forming "Chinese Nation" transforms state into Manchu
"Form Chinese Nation" makes all future x to Manchu save files inaccessible (GRRRR)
Temple faction gets huge manpower penalty and Bureaucratic faction can't deploy traders (this one's a bit of personal taste, really)
I get how these implementations were meant to impair AI, and I appreciate how balancing the factions can make the game interesting ... but especially to the second point, there should never be no way to opt out. Even if the barrier is quite high, I want to have the same powers as the other states. Before the current patch, the factions could be done away with? I wish I'd have started this particular campaign back then.... Were there incessant pirate raids?
