Yes, there will be AA guns.

Ok. I never really thought of China getting involved past Iran, and I have no idea why they would support Israel. So that would need to get cleared up before that scenario can come to fruitation.

I'm also hesitant to get rid of Russia as an Ally for China. I would only want this scenario possible if a human player belongs to the Chinese alliance and has selected a certain difficulty in the difficulty events (they are in the events thread if interested). I would like these events to be able to trigger harder and more interesting scenarios for the player, but not usually for the AI.

We already have China and Vietnam being allied. I think Vietnam would rather be neutral than give up Chinese territory, but we can easily write some events similar to what happenedin WW2 with Italy. Once Germany had to step in to help Northern Italy, they annexed Southern Tyrol with the clear intention of annexing Venice later. So if the US is steamrolling through Southern Vietnam, China can take steps and annex the territories they want. There is a large Chinese population in Southeast Asia*, so perhaps China will want go go all the way down to Singapore.

*Countries with large Chinese pops are potential targets
Singapore- Chinese 76.7%
Malaysia- Chinese 24%
Thailand- Chinese 14%
Laos- Chinese less than 1%
Cambodi- 1%
Philippines - 1.5%

Chinese support for Israel/Vietnam Territory/Russia

China could start giving support to Israel if Israel starts to give China technologies that the U.S. won't give China. Also, if the Islamic Chinese minorities from Xinjiang (Sinkiang) start to become more irritating and demanding a separate sovereign Islamic state.
Vietnam doesn't owe China any territory, it is the Chinese that took over traditional Vietnamese territory. Thus the centuries-old hatred.
Russia, well being allies with China has to first and foremost be in Russia's benefits and national interests, and vice-versa. It would be an interesting scenario like u said, if both giant countries do make an alliance. This is especially so for the U.S. player.

Anybody considered the Shanghai Cooperation Organization?

DDP victory in the Taiwanese elections and then Chen following up on independence pledge with the new found DDP dominance in the Yuan might be useful to kick off a war, or pre-emptive strike on NK.

Vietnam hates China.

In my opinion, the "Yuan" means the "Legislative Yuan" (parliament).
Am I right? :)

Aye. When the Communists took over, the Nationalists fled to Taiwan. In fact, Chiang Kai-Shek's wife just died there at age 106 in today. (Link contains some Taiwan history as well)

In fact, she died in the U.S., not Taiwan.

I would like to offer some historical infomation about the status of Taiwan. I hope that this can help all of you when designing a MOD.

1624-1662: Dutch colonial rule

1662-1683: Cheng family rule (Ming dynasty supporters)

1683-1895: Chinese Empire (Qing dynasty) rule

1895-1945: Japanese colonial rule

1945-1949: China (KMT) rule

1949-1988: KMT(Chiang Kai-shek and Chiang Ching-kuo) regime-in-exile rule

1988-2000: Democratization and Nativization led by the first native-born president Lee Teng-hui and the opposition party DPP(Democratic Progressive Party)

2000: Chen Shui-bian(DPP) president elected

Has anyone thought of the Matsu and Quenoy island chains? They are small groups of islands that are geographically a lota lot closer to China than Taiwan, but they are politically part of Taiwan. I belive China has shelled them with artillery on the mainland before. Perhaps China does this, and some important executives are killed, causing Taiwan to declare war. Also, maybe this could be used (if China and Taiwan go to war for some other reason) to bring US; Austrailia; etc. into the war. Just replace the executive with (insert country here) tourist group.

Perhaps China should be allied with Myanmar at the start and N. Korea would join in a bit later? Afterall, China has rather good relations with Myanmar(way better than with NK), they are planning to build bases at Myanmar and it wouldn't disturb the plot if NK wouldn't be allied with China from day 1 but join a bit later.

Going to make a related post at the events thread...

Greater Asia Alliance

I propose a possible alliance between China/N.Korea/India/Vietnam and or possibly Japan.

N.Korea would be easy enough. Vietnam would take some time due to age-old hatred between China and Vietnam. India would need to be influenced heavily to sway them into an alliance. Japan would be hardest since it would probably take a coup de'tat to ally with China.

Couldn't there be event triggers or something to that nature put in place for this to happen?

Because if the EU allies with the U.S. It would be too easy for the U.S. Can't there be a breakdown of relations between the U.S. and the EU just like what is happening now?

How about the Middle East? Would U.S. occupation forces still be in place in Iraq? And if they are, shouldn't there be events that raises dissent in the U.S. to simulate rising American casualties. Also, the "Iraqi Prisoner Abuse Scandal."

How about Russia? Could there be an event that involves Chechnya which would make the U.S. condemn the Russians, thus making the Russians hostile towards the U.S.?

Yes, we have Russia being an ally with China in most games. It could change if the right side wins the Russian civil war we have planned.

I'm not sure about Japan and India allying with China, but we can probably have some events that can change if either gets influenced all the way over.

Japan and India allied with China? I dont think so. Both arent liked by China for different reasons. India because of several border disputes and General problems while Japan killed... who knows how many Chinese in WWII. Those two should not be allied With China at all. If anything. Japan should be with the Cotw and India indepedent until brought into the conflict, likely also with the Cotw.

Japan should be like a neutral Switzerland and if you DoW Japan, you also awaken a sleeping Giant[not as powerful as the US but pretty powerful] and then you also piss off the rest of the world :)

Notice...

Gordon Freeman, notice the word "Possibility" in my post. What I proposed is clearly not an absolute, but rather another possibility in the realm of possibilities. Keep in mind that this mod deals with a THEORETICAL war between two superpowers, not a historical war. I am very much aware of the history between China and Japan, and the territorial tensions between China and India, I also know the feelings that China harbors about Japan about WWII. Unfortunately, I failed to specify those facts, thus leaving myself open to attacks. You and Masternick provide a good, different perspective on the matter. However, your scathing attack leaves much to be desired...Next time, please do take the time to somehow read and analyze a post before you make untimely responses...
