So what fort level should the South Korean/North Korean border have within the game mechanics? I believe each fort is a -9% efficiency.

IMO, the border should have a fairly high fort level. The DMZ is one of the most mined places on earth. The DPRK's side of the DMZ is guarded by 2/3 of their military, housed in about 4,000 underground facilities. (Huge stockpiles of supplies and fuel are stored underground, too) There are over 11,000 artillery guns (a couple hundred have the range to target Seoul) stationed at or near the border, and these are housed in hardened underground artillery bunkers, camoflauged concrete shelters, underground caves, etc. and many of them are ready to be taken out to prepositioned fireing positions. The border is probably better fortified than the Atlantic wall was. Not sure how it compares with the Maginot line, though. I think, though, that all this justifies at least level 3-5 forts all along the DMZ zone.

alright, heres a suggestion:

i think if we can afford the tags there should be an event of a democratic uprising(i.e. civil war heres it in good detail) in china

name: Chinese Civil War

trigger: um...maybe when n. korea falls and so does the city of bejing.

Country: China (duh!)

Description: ill make one if we agree on it.

Options:
Supress the Rebellion!
A high dissent rise and a civil war
(game Over)

well........

Ah, I see what you mean. Misinterpretation.

China has prevented them from declaring it (by threatening war) so far. I got reminded of it because President Hu reminded the world in Australia in the last couple days that Taiwan is still theirs and gave the standard threats again.

Yes, Taiwan declaring Formal Independence with U.S. support is a good idea, and then China DoWes them. Also, if China ever get's annexed/puppeted by the CotW, it should autmocatically become all of Taiwan's, showing that the Nationalists got their land "back". Also, Taiwan should have territorial claims of all of China, and vice versa.

Hmm...

The US might not give their support since this declaration of independance would come at the least convenient time for them (all spread out). I was hoping for Taiwan to act independantly of the US for some reason, not sure what though.

We could make the reason very specific. Perhaps a star athlete in Taiwan would rise up and become the nation's hero. And then Taiwan would become determined to enter him or her into the 2004 Summer Olympics. Would be interesting for a world war to result from something like that.

Sounds like something Tom Clancy would write :D

If Taiwan is ever attacked by China, the U.S. would help them immediately, anyway, so it doesn't matter, cause they will get U.S. support anyhow.
