Alone in the Wilderness with the Glory of Allah
As the bird flies across the world he watches the ground, and as soars above the sandy deserts of the endless Sahara and the lush fertile delta of the Nile he enters our realm. The Empire built by the glory and grace of Allah, he who rules in might.
"Our kingdom was once great my Caliph, we stretched from the sea of the West and the pillars of Hercules to the cities of the decadent Hindus of India, from the spring of the Nile to the mountains of Armenia. And we prospered and Allah favoured us, but as time went on our Imams and our nobles were corrupted by power, and bent the truth of Allah into a mockery, to serve themselves. And Allah was angry and sent the Hordes of the Devil to strike us down, showing us his power and scattering the parts of our Empire. They still served their own greed and set up petty Emirates on sacred ground, Jerusalem was taken by the Mameluk slaves, Mekka and Medina by the despot of the Hedjaz and they still did not accept Allah's will.
But we my Caliph, we recognised the truth and repented of the old aberration of true Islam, and renounced Sunniism, and we embraced a simpler and truer dogma, that of Shi'ism. For it teaches that justice and fairness are the duty of every man, and that Allah is merciful and just and he has set in motion events that shape mankind to this day, and that discovering the world with science is the road to understanding and that is what Allah wishes us to do."
"So I am here to instruct you my Caliph, to rule your people wisely and with compassion, and to understand the will of Allah so you can follow him unfalteringly"
And so the young prince of Baghdad grew and inherited the mantle of Caliph, and he sought understanding, so he instructed the imams to research the fairness of the laws and the customs, which they did and they improved upon them, always striving to the perfection of Allah, and knowing it was impossible. In the world outside the realm of the Caliph did the mountain tribes of Ak Konylu make war upon the Orthodox Georgians, calling upon the Caliph for aid. The Caliph responded and sent his finest and best discplined troops in Armenia, and they took the high fortress that rested there. But he did not want people to unwillingly accept his rule, and he signed a lasting peace with the Georgians.
However the mameluk slaves envied the Caliphates advances in law and attacked, and the Caliph led his troops in defence of his country, and after a long and bitter struggle the Mameluks gave up the holy city of Jerusalem and the region of Syria. The Caliph addressed the city of Jersualem one morning at the break of dawn and he explained, reasoned, persuaded and finally taught the words of Allah to the city, and it accepted the true religion out of adoration for the calm and gentle young man who had shown them the way.
The Hedjaz fought on though and killed the Caliph's finest general, he was given a state burial and his ashes scattered to the winds of the desert. The Caliph could not bear the thought of more death and surrendered to the Hedjaz, accepting their peace.
And so Abbas the first, started to return to his true calling, the administration of his people as his flock. And they improved their skills at the bazaar and sold their wears to the people from Europe and Asia. And much wealth flowed through the country yet his people emulated his example and lived purely, and Allah smilied upon them, and Armenia was captured by the troops of the Crescent army.
After this the mameluks again attacked, and again were beaten back and their cruelly occupied lands liberated. And in the peace treaty the lands of Sinai, Aleppo and Acre were added to the Caliphate. And again peace reigned and the nation was governed well and many barbaric laws were repealed, women were allowed to show their faces in society and religions were respected, Catholics, Orthodox Christians, Sunni and Shi'ite were treated alike by the law and the people stood in awe of such a just leader. The city of Isfahan in fact revolted from the disintergrating Timiruids to join the Caliph.
"It must be done my caliph, they are butchering our shi'ite brethren, the armies must march now or we will have stood by and let thousands die, Ak Konylu cannot be allowed to kill them for heresy, they must be stopped"
So be it said the Caliph and the sheep lords forts were turned to rubble and debris, and many met with Allah upon the plains of Daghestan and they lost to this world. And so the Caliphate marches upon the last hideout of the Sheep Lords and the Caliph prays for a surrender from the tyrnaical despots, for he does not want to storm the castle and he wants to be able to lead his men home like he has promised...
