One thing that annoys me with children and their accumulation of piety and prestige, is that if they are say, proud, content and zealous they will gain piety and prestige in such huge amounts that by the time they are 16 they cannot choose any of the ambitions that reward high prestige or piety.

Perhaps a tier based ambition system would be in order? Like you could choose to aim at 500 piety for a certain bonus and title such as "the pious", 1000 for "the holy", 1500 for "the sacred", 2000 for "chosen of god" and so on. Possibly also a penalty if you do not reach your ambition, such as getting the nickname "the self important" or some better insult?

Anyway, just throwing it out there.
