Hello folks,
Got an annoying problem in my French game. My sister is the countess of Thuringia, and she is married matrilineally. Her original successor was the duke of Schleswig, but she had kids, so they should have been successors. Except the duke of Schleswig keeps murdering them. He has already got four of her kids murdered, and the last one is alive. I got the duke excommunicated, but don't have a way to attack him myself (no claims against Denmark). I have tried sending assassins after him, but for some reason, I have extremely low probability of success, and even with his excommunication, he keeps successfully murdering her kids. Is there a way I can deal with the bastard myself? If you get someone murdered, should their kin not get a claim on your title, or at least, a CB to kill you?

well if were picking sides im with the duke, as for dealing with him you could plot or go forge a claim on his land an go mono e mono

Yes, but for role playing purposes, my king wants the duke dead, not merely his lands seized. And I cannot plot against him. There are only a few people shown when I plot against him, and all of them love him despite the fact that he is excommunicated.
