They don't work.

There is a way to use one's lag to manipulate diplomacy and intelligence options however, but thats really more of an exploit that people just won't appreciate...

cheats no.....exploits yes!!

The cheat codes do not work and I have been trying to find out now for quite some time if people can cheat during game play. There has been several times that I really wondered about certain games...... anyway, my conclusion is that actual cheating per say is not the problem...it's people exploiting the game and taking advantage of certain things....eg.. declaring war on minors and keeping those wars active in order to gain the extra income due to the consumer goods being halved......or people trading units.........or taking advantage of lag by constantly hitting the send button until the game catches up. Then there's people who know how to edit the games, but you really only have to worry about the host in that case. Good luck! People will always take the easier path rather than playing on an even field....watch your back!!! I always play clean......no dirt here!!!

Taking advantage of minors and puppets is one issue, yes, along with other "exploits"---such as the one relating to sorrounding a nation's capital and thus cutting off their supply (doesn't work if you're Germany fighting the SU though, for some reason events move the capitals as you advance and sorround them on all sides).

Some people play very, very unfairly---unfortunately, the design of this game itself is typicaly the problem. Like in the aformentioned supply exploit.
