Cheating on the EU4 Leaderboards

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
Why not doing both? Its just another way to compare you own style and skill to others. Not all the time, not with everybody. Just to see if its possible to (Enter any goal here)

It's just there for environment tbh, it existing dosnt hurt ofc so new stuff are always welcome, but there will always be people who got the top with terribly abused exploits anyway so just don't take it so serious, but it doesn't affect game in any negative way so be happy with that.
Of course I can ignore it. But still.. everytime a developer diary about another "competetive feature" pops up, I can't stop myself thinking "Meh, another waste of development time, they could improve the actual game instead!". This is my opinion about how I would like to see EU develop of course, in other games I love the competetive aspect, but I feel it is really out of place in a game full of exploits and RNG such as EU.

Indeed, I can't see a difference because:
Maybe a leaderboard with 1M+ scores is even better because people are then more critical. You don't help people when you remove such impossible scores because you suggest then that the remaining scores are real.
Edit: Your score is removed. Is the leaderboard now more trustworthy?

Well, it is something that required programming time and resources to implement. And, if they want to do it "right" (which may be a near impossibility), it will continue to take resources to maintain its integrity and to keep it secure.
I just question whether this is where Paradox should be spending its limited programming resources? Much like achievements, it will always be abusable. Unlike achievements, however, which can only ever be personal measures of success, this seems to offer the illusion of measuring one's prowess against one's peers. I question whether it can ever do that, adequately.

The leaderboard is still being worked on but we wanted to release it with the expansion since it's something the community has been asking for. Rest assured that the current situation is currently being looked at and we hope to have a good solution for it soon.

In order to protest against cheaters and help prevent cheaters you decided to cheat yourself and then post exactly how to cheat on the forums thus ensuring more people would cheat.........that sounds logical to you?

Normally I take the first 10 scores as Cheating or doing something impressively exploity, so I try to compare myself to the next 90 player

I actually tried to edit my score above yours but I kept hitting the Int limit. Then I tried editing Ryukyu's name to "**** you XTBoris" but Paradox uses tags, not in game names.
Not gonna lie, I'm actually impressed you got your score that high. I feel like it's something obvious I missed though.

If you create a random OPM custom nation somewhere on the map, the leaderboard is disabled (at least that's what it says)

Can we also have an actual leaderboard of the players of the same game (including IA) on the end game screen rather than the meaningless "historical scores" ?

That's fine. It doesn't preclude the existence of a leaderboard, however, as some people will like that. If it actually works properly and is validated, I'm sure there would be a small community that would enjoy it.
Kinda like the community of Civ4/5 who try to win in like two dozen turns on deity.

There should be a possibility to delete campaings from the rankings (your own campaings ofc). I dont like the idea that every (even failed after 3 years of game/ragequit/eyc) campaing is sent to leaderboard. I should be able to keep only the best ones to compare with others.
Would be neat if we could sort by country tag. I'd like to know if my 103 Gelre in 1495 is terribad or not (only my 4th game, going for the form Netherlands cheeve)
