It would be great if you King/Duke had as detailed stats as your rulers in Medival:Total War. Watching my rulers and princes develope was my absolute favourite part of the game (yes! Even more so then the battles! ), so it would be wonderful if you could create a hated despot or a beloved leader of men...

Arg, I hope they are MUCH more detailed then that, I thought it was pretty generic in that game, although I did like the vices/virtues types...

Really? I don't think much more then diplomatic influence/loyality, dread, piety, military skill and administrative skill + Vices and Virtues would be needed for a strategy game, this isn't an RPG after all...

But which stats would you like to see added?

This will be an RPG, too..since you control individuals and their dinasty, not a generic state...

Yea, I think it is going to be far more personal than a MTW type strategy, since you play a character with a face. I want to know what kinda inept spineless freak the man I'm looking at is...

Knowing that might effect my strategy too.

Indeed, nothing like some crack brained unhinged loons running about with Secret Blood Lust running around to get you all riled up.

Yea, it was kinda pointless that as the Byzantines, I was constantly marrying within my own family, but after 10 generations it hadn't damaged the bloodline much if any.

I hope inbreeding over the long term may play a more significant role in both appearance and stats. I also hope inbreeding on the scale of MTW is not possible.

Do in-game actions affect those traits? For example, if you retreat from battle, would that have the possibility of turning on 'cowardess'?

Sooo, it sounds like the M:TW system with an extra attribute ;)

Actually, I get the impression that it's 4 attributes plus other traits that a leader can have. Not just the three attributes of M:TW plus one. ;)

CK - M:TW
6 attributes (prestige, piety and 4 unknown) - 5 attributes (prestige/loyality, piety, dread, military, economic)
Unknown number of on/off traits - Unknown number of Vice/Virtues

That's how I see it, at least. :) Though of course the Paradox system will be the better one! :D

I've never played any total war games, so dunno how those games work.. This is from the old design we had before the first team started in spring of 2001. (now the game is on its 3rd dev.team, this time I'm in charge of it..)
Prestige-Piety-Gold <-- Score-values (changing all the time.)
Martial, Diplomacy, Intrigue, Stewardship <-- Attributes
About 70 different traits that give benefits/penalties, some more examples are "Kinslayer", "Naive Wirepuller", "Lisp" :) In theory a char could have a rather large amount of traits.

Hm, does Martial represent his breeding or fighting skills? I'm guess the latter really makes more sense... :p
