I want to begin writing character-based events, both new and to tie existing events into more complex "stories" that the player can see and participate in (which means there'll have to be country/province events with effects on characters, rather than purely character events, which are "silent" i.e. invisible)

I think the new layer in Rome, that of characters, is largely untapped, and is capable of great things. We can really involve the players in massive character-based story arcs, the outcome(s) of which can or will shape entire empires. Jane_Doe has already produced fantastic results from that mind of hers, and I'd like to thank her for taking such a huge first step in this direction.

So this thread is here to post story ideas, and expand upon them.
Even basic ideas for story-arcs are welcome, as these can be easily elaborated, and can serve to get the creative "juices flowing", as writers say, in the minds of those who read them.

One thing i believe is very important in the game are the marriages, and therefore events giving the player the opportunity to choose between a set amount of candidates to marry would be a great addition. One thing i miss from EU3 is marriages between countries, but i might be lost in the woods :D .

Haven't the slightest clue how, or if, this can be done. There's no event effect that can make a character marry.
