The dynasty modification is available, but the character and title customizations are not showing up. No greyed out icon, no icon at all. Anyone else having this? I have a steam copy.

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
Assuming that you are using steam, people have reported similar problems. They have also reported that opting into the Steam Beta Client gets the customization dlc working. Click on Steam on the top left, click on settings in the drop down menu, go to the accounts tab and there should be a beta participation section. Hit change and go from not being opted in to any betas to being opted in to the Steam Beta Update. You may also have to verify local files.
NOTE: This can potentially cause problems with Steam in general, just as a warning.

Glorious! At first appearance this fix seems to have solved the issue. Thank you for the suggestion, as you also implicate the fact that there may be unforeseen further issues. I hope that will not be the case, but at face value it seems to have done exactly as you suggested. Thank you so much.
Now to rule the North Sea Empire as good ol' Mr. Cnut.

The note is a general warning acknowledging that you are essentially opting into a version of Steam that isn't a fully tested version, so there might be problems, but there probably won't be any problems.
