Is it just my luck or is Europe much more chaotic in 1.12 than before?

Below is an example from my current game. I'm Hungary and have warred only in the Balkan, so I shouldn't have affected Western Europe all that much.

That Big Blue Blob... The times when France collapsed on its own used to be few and far between. I've also never seen such weird Iberia. Burgundian inheritance didn't fire, of course (France cities < 8), but they lost their minors.

I've seen chaos in other games too, though I've only played 3 + a couple of observe games. The lack of initial England-France war contributes, I'm sure, but changes to levels of development are probably "to blame", not that I mind.

Yep, very chaotic. I love it!

Here's results from my game (yes, I obviously affected the results by my own meddling, but I swear I've never seen anything go like that in EU IV even with me being involved, the AI was always very conservative and rather passive, now I see it going completely nuts and I love it so much - the AI even goes nuts conquering a ton of provinces at once). Still some usual things, but plenty of very unusual occurrences.

(Russia was going strong, had plenty of land, was catching up to me in military size, then, sometime later, I check the map and... Russia not that stronk anymore)

(Even though it was my fault that I absolutely destroyed Spain by creating an Aragon march (I was allied with Spain, but they broke the alliance, so I replaced it with a more trustworthy ally, I never saw Morocco using the opportunity - Morocco is westernized and actually attacked Iberia several times, allied with the powerful Ottomans, even before I had weakened Spain).

(The Pope pretty much took the entire coast there to Greece (including), that the Hungarians took from Ottomans. Hungary probably wanted to get its lands back, but Wallachia got them first, so they just took what they could).

Oh, and Brabant was HRE Emperor for much of the later game. Austria held the title for long and we were very close allies and helped eachother out, but then, one day, Austria got declared on by a powerful alliance and I saw that it was pointless defending a potential rival (if Austria beat them back and took some land - that's definitely going to get their power up) and I was strong enough, so I finally abandoned them. RIP Austria. I did give them some land back that the Pope took, though.

I think a lot of the chaos are contributed by bugs running rampant with the launch of 1.12. It will probably stabilize a bit as bug fixing patches rolls out.

Having said that I too love to see a chaotic europe. This game always felt too railroaded.

The major contributors to this are:
Reduced manpower of nations, which means nations can be very vulnerable after a war. AI nations have become more opportunistic now.
Richer small nations (all nations start with 1 ducat monthly income fixed)
Increased FL for small nations
Forts. This is important. In a war between two nations with only a capital fort, a general with siege pips means that army can take down capital + a couple of other provinces before his opponent can take his capital.
In quite a few games I've seen Ragusa DoW Serbia 1 on 1 and full annex them. Serbia army never attacks Ragusa because Ragusa goes and sieges a mountain province. And ofcourse sieging Ragusa is a lot slower because -2 from coastal province without blockade.

One game means nothing, in my Muscowy game Burgundy went to hell in 1453.

In my Austria game France conquered Britanny in 1449.

In both games Denmark spanked :)

Isn´t tere a thread for people to post screenshots of what´s happening in their games?

In my games Spain never forms or is formed by Aragon and either Poland gets completely destroyed or completely destroys everyone around them. Everything else is as same as always.

EDIT: oh and ottoman expansions is really slowed down and in late game they just get rekt by OP Austria.

My latest game, playing a custom nation which spans the southern provinces of Europe from Algarve to Genoa (and all of Savoy).

France broke, completely
Burgandian inheritance fired, to Austria
Bohemia is Emperor and has been for most of the 2 centuries I've played
England kept their provinces on the mainland for over 150, recently lost Normandy to independence
Brittany took everything in central France and formed France after 150 years or so
Naples broke free, then allied with Aragon, which has since been swallowed by me
Poland and Lithuania are rivals
Norway controls all of scandinavia
Bosnia is took Serbia, Ragusa and Albania, remains strong
Hungray hasn't changed it's borders, ever
Muscovy is getting wrecked by everyone
Livonian Order took all of Novgorod
Ottomans have taken Levant and chunks of Egypt from the Mamluks, their expansion has been really slow, but they've been developing
Castile has lost land to me and Portugal
Tlemcen has swallowed Morocco
Bahamis controls all of India except for the small tip at the bottom and Ceylon
England, Portugal and Castile have small colonies in South America
Portugal has a colonial nation in South America and Central America
Portugal, Castile and myself have land in West Africa
England has land in South Africa
North America is untouched and I'm the only nation in the Caribbean
HRE nations have all blobbed within the HRE, can't name them, but we're down to about dozen nations
England took all of Scotland and Ireland, except Tyrone which is now Scotland

After 200 years, I'm enjoying it, the world is very different to anything I've seen before, wars are slow and dangerous. The current league war won't trigger, because it is completely imbalanced, but if it did, every nation in Europe would be involved, including the Ottomans (everyone has taken sides).
