Changing Save Directory

I know for EU4 you can change the save/profile directory by creating a userdir.txt file in the game directory (with the contents of the txt file just being the desired new save directory). I tried this method for CK2 and all I got was game crashes for my troubles. Does anyone know how, if at all possible, you can change where files save to?

It's exactly the same, I use it myself and it works fine. Don't copy your existing directory there, let the game create it afresh.
