I have an half decent heir coming up, but his little brother would be so much better (genius with 27 diplomacy and 18 stewardship!!). Is there a way to get rid of my primary heir? Right now my second son (the genius) has left my court to go to the court of my vassal who hate me the most (my son also has like -60 opinion of me). If i let a faction put him in control of my kingdoms, would I control him when i die? How can i have him as a successor?

Bloody kinslayers!

If you dont want to kill your first born, you can give him a bishopric, so he is no longer entitled to inherit (clerics do not inherit).

I always get the message "Can not make heir a bishop"

To get around that, sometimes matrilineally marrying him to a female duchess or queen will let her give him a bishopric, though sometimes he just becomes court chaplain if he's good.
Alternately, if you think this message is ahistoric (I DO!!!) you can use the give_title cheat, it should work.

Bloody kinslayers!

But it's for the good of the realm!!

In the end i killed him.... but i actually feel guilty about this, seriously! From a gameplay perspective, my second son will be more fun to play. From a human (and father) perspective i just cannot feel good about killing my own son....
