Hey all, I'm doing my first game as the USA (have some experience with other paradox games) and I've read some stuff, but still need to figure out quite some things. Its not actually going too bad at all. I had trouble changing from the liberal party to the consersative party (for their economic policy) but I never succeeded, do you guys have any tips? After that there was some anarcho liberal revolt i think and a few days later a communist revolt (the first one) spammed on top of it. I couldve killed all rebels but they got their demands in quickly. Now I'm a proletariat dictatorship and while I'm loving the money (around 1890 about 3000 a day) with a country such as the US it seems impossible to manually build and upgrade all factories. So i was wondering, how do i change back to a democracy? and how would i prevent such things in the future?

and also, how do i improve my population to fill my factories? is the national focus on crafstmen the most useful then?

Always keep a stack of soldiers in your capital to prevent rebells from enforcing their demands.
I don't know but try to go to the politics screen maybe you can change party manually now.
To influence peoples opinions of which party they like there are events and national focus for that but it is a slow process.

Good idea, I'll do that in other runs. I can't seem to be able to change the party unfortunately. Only a few percent of my country is actually communist with by far the majority being either liberal, conservative or reactionary, but it seems there aint any rebels coming for a democracy :/ building factories as a newb in the whole USA is a pain

Go to the production tab and go where you can pay for the factories that the gaps wants to build. Then you dont have to think what factories to build which is very complicated.

Why would you ever want to get rid of communism?

Also, there is a function to expand all full or nearly full factories automatically, to ease micromanagement hell.

But once you got communism projects aren't set up anymore by POPs, or are you talking about something else?

Where is that function? I could only find a button to subsidize all factories. Anyways, once you got a big enough industry (easy with the USA) it's gonna be hard to upgrade them all at once, besides that you want to prioritize certain factories.

Manually building factories>>>letting capitalists build them. First of all you control which factories to build where, so you can match factories with the appropriate provincial RGOs as well as make proper factory chains(fabric->regular clothes->luxury clothes, lumber->furniture->luxury furniture, etc). Secondly you can upgrade factories much faster than capitalists do naturally and you can choose which factories to upgrade. These are the advantages of Planned Economy as well as State Capitalism which actually does allow capitalists to build things on their own by the way.

I always go for planned economy. I seriously don't ever with to have my entire nation filled with stupidly large numbers of canned food and explosive factories.

Besides, capitalists are annoying. They repeatedly keep trying to build a factory in the same province again and again, and I have to stop the construction every few days.

As for switching out of Communism, what you're looking for are Jacobin rebels. It will take 2 successful rebellions though, the first will make you a HM's government again with their specific reforms. The second(once HM) will convert you back into a democracy.

Shift-click on the expand button on any factory.

Figure out a way to increase militancy if you really want to get the counter-revolutionaries back in the power. Not good, though, comrade!

As for switching out of Communism, what you're looking for are Jacobin rebels. It will take 2 successful rebellions though, the first will make you a HM's government again with their specific reforms. The second(once HM) will convert you back into a democracy.

That's only in absolute monarchy and Prussian constitutionalism, in any other government the Jacobin rebels will turn you into a democracy.

Thanks for the tips everybody! I think I got the basics down and I'm gonna give it a try with the Netherlands. Planned Economy does seem really good and manageable with smaller nations, so I guess I'll try to spark up the commies there!

I have been building production chains in the US in this playthrough, but the amount of states is a bit overwhelming for noobs such as me!

Do any of you guys have specific tips on industrializing besides of course building factories influenced by their region's RGO's and the recommended amount of clerks and clergymen?
