They should release it on June 6, with a special d-day or liberation or Fortress Europa edition. Would be a pretty cool gimmick

I don't see where BjornB said it would be earlier than the may 25th date? He just said it's not may 25th. If I didn't see where he said that can somebody point me on over to it?

There is nowhere that this is explicitly stated, but from how complete the game is looking plus what we've heard about the development, the general consensus is that the release is not far away at all.

True. Devs have said 3-6 months from the time it goes into beta. That's the only specific statement we have, everything else is speculation.
Yeah, May 8th or June 6th are both good candidates in my eyes.

As was stated above, May 25th seems too specific, and fits in perfectly with how the devs say the game is coming along, and Podcat's statement that he is out of time. I may also add that the site is very new, and the announcement is tomorrow. Is it REALLY just a placeholder? *puts on tinfoil hat*

IMPORTANT EDIT: They removed the date May 25th from the code, but the pre-order option is still there! This definitely seems like some sort of cover up

May 25th might be the date, but if they've taken it back down, that tells me it was indeed just a placeholder. If I was a dev, I wouldn't care if the date was released less than a day too early.

I think it would be best if instead of hyping all of ourselves up, making conspiracy theories of how this is just an attempt to keep the date hidden until the press event, and getting our hopes up, we should just wait for the event. The event is happening today in a matter of several hours, we should just wait until said press event before making up any more silly reasons for why May 25th is the date, when they specifically said it is simply placeholder.

Yeah, I completely understand what you mean. It doesn't make much sense for a big company to put something like that in the source code, unless they honestly thought nobody would go looking in such a short time span before the announcement.
Nevertheless, they are almost certainly giving us a date tonight. (Inb4 the date is May 26th or 24th)

While I fully agree with this sensible approach, where's the fun in that? For the most part it's all been pretty good natured (the foil-hatted conspiracy theories pushing the boundaries of course).
It says something good about the PDS community that everyone is this excited about it but also willing to poke fun at ourselves by revelling in the probably inaccurate hype.
I'm in two minds about staying up till midnight in the middle of the week to watch the announcement though. Can't we ask GDC to run the whole thing on GMT or CET?

If it was cet then today would be yesterday , unless tomorrow is actually today, in which case today is yesterday's tomorrow and tomorrow's tomorrow is today's tomorrows yesterday

I'm sure that we could all deal with that amount of temporal entanglement.
I know that the yanks aren't seasoned drinkers but the majority of the PDS staff are Scandinavian and they probably wouldn't let a few drinks stand in the way of an arbitrary imposition of their own time zone on the west coast.

2 months seems like a very short time but then again we haven't seen a current build in what several months on WWW? Plus to my knowledge no additional Beta keys have been sent out to all of us who had original did the referral program so I still find it hard to believe it will be before Q3 but I hope I'm wrong
