Some portrait changes. Mission payout might be lower. Costs shifted: loan is now 70k, while light and medium 'Mech upkeep is 12k each.
Actually, that's a pretty good OpFor compared to some we've seen. I remember one mission was 4 half-armored tanks. It was over in about 4 rounds. It was a bad payout mission, but there are missions that pay a lot more later on. You also need to think that in this contract I was facing 2 Locusts and a Spider... Can't expect much payout from that! Since it was a low payout but high salvage mission, I decided to go for full salvage and get loaded with things I'm most definitely going to need later on.
That is what we in the mercenary business call a "milk run" - it's the best kind of mission; all the pay with little to no actual workActually, that's a pretty good OpFor compared to some we've seen. I remember one mission was 4 half-armored tanks. It was over in about 4 rounds.

Obviously you've never had to steal experimental meta-bovine lactate. From what I've learned from shadowrun: There is no such thing as a milk run ;D
Steal, no. Contaminate, yes.Obviously you've never had to steal experimental meta-bovine lactate.
Agree, but it's hard to know for sure with a sample size of 1. It's also unlikely we'll get any more proof in volume before April 20.Doubling the Mech upkeep prices will make the early campaign a little harder and the prospects of keeping more Mechs active in MechBays a tougher decision in the later game. The AI did seem to make better decisions with both aggressive and defensive movements.
I agree with @Cyttorak001, it is such a small sample size to make an AI-efficacy call... plus Carlos was himself very efficient in putting down AI Mechs, not giving them long to make much a go of it.Doubling the Mech upkeep prices will make the early campaign a little harder and the prospects of keeping more Mechs active in MechBays a tougher decision in the later game. Hopefully this coming weekend will see a second round of Streamers make use of a more current Pre-Release Built. : )
I think Kiva said she lowered Leopard upkeep (the loan) to match the rise in mech upkeep to keep the early game the same for players, while still adding to the economic challenge of the game once you get the Argo. From the screenshots, looks like the loan dropped 30k, while mechs went up 6k/each, so to 24k with the starting four.Doubling the Mech upkeep prices will make the early campaign a little harder and the prospects of keeping more Mechs active in MechBays a tougher decision in the later game.
