Change province pictures?

Where is the file, where i can choose which pictures i use for provinces (or for the units?) ? I have spent more then an hour on searching for this file now, but i couldn't find anything. There must be a way, because the people from GIP managed somehow to use unique icons for german units

To change the province pictures, you have to do two things:

* Go into 'db\province.csv' and change the province terrain to 'Urban' (Note that this will also make the province much more difficult to attack).
* Put your newly created province picture into the 'gfx\interface' folder, and name it 'ill_prov_<<PROVINCE ID>>.bmp'

So, this thing is hardcoded? I mean, that only urban provinces can have their own pictures? Thought so, but it would be really cool to give every single province it's own picture. The historical feeling would be highly increased... we should ask paradox to include this possibility.

http://www.esnips.com/web/HoI2-Province has a mod made with about 200 different province images in a similar style and format to vanilla HoI2. There is also a text document to tell you what provinces go where. Otherwise, follow Sarmatia1871's advice.

The file is called "HoI2 Citiesv1.5.rar".

They certainly are. Some of the lesser used cities have not been fixed in game to ensure that the city name is readable. Too much detail or dark shadows in the upper left can obscure the name. All of the commonly urban cities have been tested to ensure that the names are readable.

Excellent - I was actually going to ask if there were any pictures for Prague and Belgrade, and the ones you have are very good!
