Change game rules after start

Hey guys, is it possible to change a game rule editing the savegame file?

I accidentally turned off "custom realms", and now as the proud holder of three duchies I really want to create my custom kingdom. Enabling this option should be possible without breaking the savegame, right? Thanks!

Assuming you're not playign ironman or something, if you save as an uncompressed file, you can use a text editor (e.g. notepad, wordpad et al) to edit the save game. Best thing to do would be to start a new game* with the settings you want, save uncompressed, and then copy that text to your main game save file.

I did with that to my currect run, which was 200-odd years in pre-Reaper (so I could turn off defensive pacts and AI seduction, which had been annoying me!)


*From what people say, probably best to quit the game after you create the new save game.
