Change emperor to padishah emperor

That is what I thought, people mentioned it as a turkish title but when I was thinking about I distinctly remembered that when I read about the title Shanshah that Padishah was a title that would come to be used in India.

Well when the mughal empire came to be there hadn't been a persian dynasty in persia in almost half a millenia. Instead there had been a revolving door of turks and mongols (whom quite frankly are kind of hard to tell from one another.

It was used in india since the muslim rulers in india were turkish. As were the muslim rulers in persia, anatolia, egypt and a bunch of other countries. It's like Sultan, if a rulers is called sultan then he is turkish, it's a turkish word.

I agree that the title should change to something, because it just offends my OCD that all other government forms should have a specific title except just this one.

But I don't like "Padishah Emperor" because it's too blatant a rip-off of Dune.
And I don't like "Galactic Emperor" because that's just, well, a lie. He's not Galactic Emperor. If he were Galactic Emperor the game would be over.
And I don't like "Imperator Caelestis" because you're just throwing Latin at it and hope it sticks. Also I always associated the imperator title with being less impressive than full-on Emperor. Wasn't "imperator" like some sort of temporary military rank the Latins used to pin to people?

So if we need some change but I don't like any of the proposals, I'm gonna go with Puissant Majesty, Puissant Emperor, or Stellar Emperor.

Actually in india the pronouncation Badshah was used, in turkey the pronounciation Pasha was used. It still derives from a Turkish word Padishah.

i mean a 'Star Empire' is comprised of 'celestial objects' which the ruler rules
So a 'Star Empire' being ruled by a 'Celestial Emperor' makes sense?
(also i like this one because it doesn't throw in random non-english words into the game just for the hell of it, nor is it a reduplication like 'Padishah Emperor')

Granted, but the more technological version of a non-religious empire is not the form of government I would usually associate with such bloviation. Even Lil' Kim doesn't claim to be Rightful Emperor Of The World.
Plus I want to avoid the silly situation of having, like, 4 Galactic Emperors at once if (when?) there are multiple Star Empires, given that would technically count as being a "false claimant to your title" and yet two Star Empires are not automatically required to hate each other. Which it seems like they should if they were both calling themselves Emperor Of The Galaxy.

I agree with your reasoning, but it's just that "Celestial Emperor" seems to carry a lot of Chinese-style Mandate-of-Heaven baggage with it, and again sounds too religious to me. Celestial Emperor would be a great name for the Divine Mandate power-up for precisely that reason, but it's a bit implication-heavy for my tastes in a secular Despotic Empire power-up.

So I tried "Astral Emperor" but that sounds like you're an Ouija board ghost, which is why I eventually settled on Stellar Emperor.

It is still a feudal empire, and they are the most renowned for taking titles too big for themselves, but point taken, if there are multiple galactic emperors then they would logically be rivals.

My working assumption for Despotic Empire was more that it's a "Space Fuhrer 1936" kinda government than a "Space Philip VI 1336" kinda government.
But I would not put it past myself to have missed a tooltip description screen somewhere.

Isn't "space Führer" the military dictatorship? The despotic empire seems to rather be one of the classical monarchies (in both senses), not necessarily feudal but probably.

You might as well go with Khagan Emperor, or Huángdì Emperor, or what about Tennō emperor? Negusa Nagast Emperor? Samrāṭ Chakravartin emperor? Several of these are much more regal than Padisha.

My vote is for Celestial Emperor. Like Moglus said, it means Star Emperor but doesn't sound like a kindergartener coined it.

Yes but Padisha emperor has already been used in similar context (Dune) to stellaris, secondly the Despotic Empire-Star Empire can't be all about star wars.
