Haven't seen anything about this in the DD's or WWW so I thought I'd post it here. I'm trying to figure out in my head the best way to still utilize the older equipment yet keep my most experienced division(s) in the newest equipment. Based on my current understanding this would require two division templates. One of them will need to have a higher priority than the other and will get the newer equipment.

Can you change an already deployed division to a different template later?

Here is the scenario. In 1936 I have a few armored divisions and they all use the tier I tank. I'm producing lots of these and I now have a bunch of armored divisions with tier I tanks. At some point I'm able to create the tier II tank, but making these will be slow going at first and I want just my most experienced division to get them only. If I create a new template with a higher priority will I only be able to deploy new divisions with it, or can I point a currently deployed division to it?

Most likely I will have to change the division template that all the current divisions are pointing to higher priority and create a new division template with a lower priority to push older equipment there. However, if I had say 20 divisions with tanks all of them would slowly get the tier II tank as they needed replacements and I couldn't slowly migrate already deployed divisions one at a time or create 1 "elite" division since all 20 divisions would have the same priority.

Yikes. Reading that back sorry about all text there. Thanks!

I will add to @grandad1982.
You don't need to actually design a new division, as this would cost Land XP. But copying a templated, without changing any of the battalions, is free.
Then give one of this two divisions a higher priority (Reserve, Normal or Elite).

In case you didn't know that already. ;)
