Paris is in the Champagne node. Trade should not flow out of Paris. It also make France collect 10g in trade while GB/Spain/Portugal are collecting hundreds, Brittany collects more trade than France usually.

Champagne should be an end node, not Bordeaux

Paradox likely did it on purpose to avoid the ludicrous indea of Champagne being an end node and somehow not connected to the channel because... reasons.
That being said, I personally support trade flowing through Bordeaux-Champagne-Channel in that order myself.
