Yeah, Navarra has very nice sliders. I kind of defeated myself when I allowed it to revolt away from Castille.

I am going to play the last 20 years in three different ways.

1) Admin, where I concentrate on a fair race.
2) Diplomacy, where I try to ally with a European country and get them to annex Navarra in a war.
3) War, I am going to declare war outright, and annex Navarra myself and on sell it. Might also fight Milan to slow them down a bit.

It will be interesting to see if you can get to the top spot, but I think you've proved the concept brilliantly.

I didn't think a country in the Indian tech group would be able to overtake pretty much everyone else in the world!

Could not have gotten any closer. Took every loan possible to buy out the last level needed.

Navarra won Land, the next three were draws, and I got government. To be fair, Navarra would of had more invested in the others, I was also only a few hundred away from 69 land. Quite impressed with Russia's land level.

Most of the Latin countries do seem to be lagging with regards to their tech, although I rarely play to game end, Only Navarra and Milan stood out and I only pulled clear of Milan in the last 10 or so years.

Burgundy formed a rather historical looking empire, France destroying herself did help in that regard.
