During October 1681, the first shots of the war were fired. A group of three Norwegian warships encountered the main fleet of Ceylon off the Spainish coast. They were quickly sunk. Castillie home territory was placed under blockade while their fleet hid in their colonies.

On Friday 21 of June, 1682 while operating in the Baltic the main Ceylon fleet encountered the Norwegian force which was sunk. Arriving late to aid the Norwegians, the remaining Bohemian galleries were sunk. Bohemia was placed under blockade, no forces could be spared to blockade the Norway.

February 1684, Spies which had infiltrated the Castillian government report a force preparing for attack in their east African holding. The admiral in charge of Ceylons home fleet, leaving the country undefended set sailed and sunk a large number of transport before encountering a fleet of warships which were sunk in a quick battle. The Home fleet then sailed back to base for repairs and continual observations.

Brandenburg kindly annexed Holland which now means Ceylon leads the world in both Naval and Government tech.
techleaderx2.jpg

Ceylon was first to use in action a new style of warship with multiple decks of canons, many of them are now involved in the war. A few scholars might claim that Holland developed such ships but the dutch shipbuilders refused to share any such knowledge with the crown of Brandenburg.

The Navy is costing 58 ducats in maintenance costs... All paid for by trade dollars. Rebellions are widespread across Bohemia and castille currently. Both countries are begging for white peace but their kings remain too pride to make a proper offer. Finland, Norway and Holstein have been gifted white peace.

Well the strategy is really paying off. Wasn't sure you'd be able to do it, but happy to be proved wrong.

What kind of peace settlement counts as a victory? I assume you'll want more than a white peace.

The great war waged on, the Latin powers held out for many years. With essential supplies running low and Ceylonese spies funding rebellions among the disgruntled populace. The once great armies of Castille and Bohemia were eventually overwhelmed and the rule of law collapsed across much of Europe.

Castille was the first to succumb, partly because much of her army was on service in her colonies and was unable to return due to Ceylon's overwhelming naval dominance.

Bohemias strong army held on for many years but eventually faulted due to the growing pressure from the rebels. The most powerful army in Europe was in tatters. Many of Bohemias neighbors joined in, although it was the army from Brandenburg which dealt the final blow and took much land from the war.

After 38 years of war, On August 1, 1719 the King of Spain agreed to the terms of peace, to the backdrop of the entire Ceylonese fleet a final peace was signed. Casille was to release many of the people from her imperial grasps and to hand over several of the kings crown jewels.

peacep.jpg

So ended the 38 year war

(Amazing coincide that the war was started 1st of August 1681, and peace was signed 1st of August 1719, that was not planned, got a few more images to add but Imageshack is not uploading)

how did you get naval range so your fleets wouldn't sink on european coasts? :D

Uncertain how Naval range works, but it was not a problem. Every 10 or so years I did need to send the blockade boats to Milan for repairs but only suffered maybe 2-5% damage every year.

Excellent shipwrights might have helped. My main fleet with the admiral did not suffer any attrition damage when in European coastal waters.

never had anyone declare war, even when my Navy was weaker. Maybe because the AI sees little value in owning my island?

Ceylon still the richest country

Leading tech in Naval, Trade and Government (gap closed a bit due to the huge cost to fund the Navy). Was able to make up ground with regards to Land and production.

This game has now gotten to a stage where I am truly dominate over the AI nations. Should easily defeat Portugal in a war, Great Britain is a mystery because they disbanded their Navy. When I do declare war I suspect they would build a replacement fleet ASAP and I suspect it might number 60 Big Ships strong. Still no problem to defeat.

So thinking of a few more challenges to keep the game interesting

-Become tech leader in all areas and prove that India is the center of worlds knowledge and superior to all other tech groups.

Any other ideas on how to keep this game interesting?

Liberate as many non-European states as you can in Africa and the Americas (including Brazil etc, when they appear).

A few developments in Europe, Bohemia did not survive the war with Ceylon. There is going to be a power struggle between Austria and Brandenburg for the control of eastern Europe . Brandenburg has a large Poland as a Vassal. Burgunday seems to be the new power of western Europe. France has turned protested and adopted a Administrative republic, probably a attempt to echo the divine government of Ceylon.

The other great Naval power of the world, Great Britain has gained land in India, it is uncertain wither they are trying to undermine Ceylonese trade, gaining a foothold for potential expansion or other unforeseen reasons, but it can not be tolerated and soon there would be war.
greatbritaininindia.jpg

Ceyon has also retired many warships from serviced and modernised her fleet with many threedeckers. She currently boosts a fleet 67 strong while Great Britain claims 72.

On the 5th of April, 1734 war was declared on the British empire, the aim was to free the Indian subjects from their rule.

wardn.jpg

Several large Naval battles were faught, out numbered and caught by surprised 24 Ceyonese warships were attacked by 30 ships of the Royal Navy. The upper hand was quickly reversered when Admiral Sri Vijaya split his force and attacked the royal fleet in two directions. The training and confidence installed from serving under the great admiral resulted in a slaughter as the Ceyonese warships open fired. With the battle won, the remainder of the British colonial fleet scattered and the pride the British had in their navy destroyed to the point they never confronted the Ceylonese fleet in any number again.

navalvictory.jpg

On the 20th May 1745, King Maximilian I a great diplomat agreed to peace. Maximilian great skill in negotiation with Stradholder Serarut who preferred dealing with coins and gold then diplomacy convinced the stradholder to allow the British empire to keep their holdings in the Indian port of Dadra. Nevertheless, Ceyonese sealed its place as the worlds greatest naval power.

I've often wondered whether minors like Wales, Navarre or Bar would actually appreciate being released.

On the one hand they're independent again, on the other hand they now have a big angry neighbour to deal with.

Still, not your problem in this case. Good work beating the British down again!

The Ceylonese government does not care much for the welsh, just gave them their independence to humiliate the king of Great Britain even more.

Think my next game of this style would have to be that little rock south of Japan. Doubt I would succeed but I did not have complete confidence when i started my Ceylonese campaign. Really depends wither I can discover the European COT before getting annexed by Japan or Ming.

Still 20 or so years of game time, but doubt I would be able to catch up with Navarra which has a 4+ level lead. Might get 2nd place, but 3rd overall is most likely.

Had been at war with Navarra but they are small enough to escape war exhaustion. Could annex them but that would be breaking the rules of my game. Might be able to ally with foix and get them to join me into a new war with foix and get them annexed that way.... Probably would not work.
