The dreams of king Bhuvanaikabahu have started to become fulfill, while the monachy has step aside from the running of the country the impacts of his legacy lives on in a government so refined that all but a few in Europe can be compared .

From the first merchants sent to Kutch, the Ceylon trade empire now spreads across the known world. Merchants of Ceylon are now heavily involved at all stages of the trade route. Purchasing the finest china in the port city of Jiangsu in the far eastern empires, to the tea and spice gardens of Indian and the middle east and the markets in Europe the merchants of Ceylon trade with a efficiency unmatched by any other nation. Wealth greater then what is earned by the vast empire of the ming in the east, and the Kingdoms in the west now passes through Ceylon.

In the harbor new ships are getting built and the Navy is swelling in size which would one day be the match of any within the seas, although there are rumors that the designs are aged and might no much for the westerns fleets.

<><><><><><><><><><>

Surprised to see that I am now only a few levels away from ahead of time penalty for government. There is only 4 countries with a higher government level then me and 3 of them is only 1 level ahead. Although, hyper teching Holland is 4 levels ahead. I suspect my high goverment should be giving a very nice neighbor bonus to the other countries in my group.

Question. Is Ceylon in the Indian or Chinese tech group?

In HTTT it's in the Indian tech group. I suspect it's the same for IN.

Good work on getting Administrative Republic. Are you going to focus on naval technology now? I should think if you can stay competitive in that you should be all right.

Yes, my focus would need to turn to Naval shortly, although might try and push trade up to 15 to get Monopoly first.

Another aim is to reach Government 31 and Tax Assessor, that would end my inflation issues forever, plus the 3 extra NI are really essential.

Long term tech aims are
Government 31 (Tax Assessor)
Naval 38 (Admiralty then Threedecker)
Trade 30 (Market Place, Scientific Revolution and to keep up my trade efficiency)

If I reach these, I should be in a good position to win the game. After that I would likely to concentrate mostly on Naval and Trade. Would love

The age of enlightenment continues for Ceylon, vast amount of resources are poured into research (+170 from Budget), mostly targeted towards trade which has made great strides and is now level 17. Merchants from Ceylon have monoploised all important cot's and frequent gifts keeps relations with the world powers high.

Unless I get a unseen war in the next 50-100 years I should be able to fulfill my aims. I might even cheat and reload if that happens.

A look at the world.

Georgia has not only survived, but has expanded.
A small Russia has formed, but a decent golden hoard separates the two orthodox kingdoms.
Bohemia is slowly consuming all of eastern Europe.
The Ottomans are slow expanding through the middle east.
The Mammulks have kept most of their land.
Algiers inherited the throne of Persia. So they now control most of north Africa and Persia.
Sicily controls most of southern Italy.
Western Europe is quite normal, Burgundy has survived in the low countries and united Ireland has revolted away from England.
Spain has not formed.
England controls most of Denmark.
Ming is normal in size, and has gained a foothold in Japan.

Took way to long but finally Patron of the Arts pays dividends. That brings me to full Innovative so I changed it to Grand Navy. My next NI would be Sea Hawks.

Been the riches for quite same time.
nattechs.jpg

Still behind the latins in most areas. Holland needs a few rebels it seems.

My Navy is not so grand, but hopefully that would change

Rumors now claim that Ceylon boosts the second most refined government in the world. The Naval and Trade gap with the Latins is also quickly closing :D

Would soon prove that the Latins should indianernise if they want to claim the title as technological leaders.

The rumors which claims that most of Ceylons 9 caravels sunk on a return trip from Holland is not true. They were simply, disbanded, off the coast of east Africa. The crews of the remaining 2 Caravels are liars their minds corrupted from spending to much time off the coast of Holland.

edit: In the year 1648, the republic of Ceylon reached government 30 and had the 7 year ahead penalty imposed. That means, all of my research is now pouring into Trade and Naval, was only put about 5-10% into them before. Also running low on useful NI, taken espionage for when I get into a war.

All with a Indian tech group tpm.

Just had my first revolt, a pretender with 7000 men occurred when the republic tried to centralized the government. The leader thought that would occur so had recruited a 12000 strong mercenary army at great expense.

Would soon be prepared to go on the offensive against the Latin naval powers. Think I would do so when I reach Naval 26 and gain Wargalleons. I really want to destroy Portugal because they insulted me a couple of times this game, but they are allied with Castille and Arragon and I am not prepared to take them all on at once. Castille is scary with 40 big and 60 small ships . England is a potential victim with weak allies and only 40 big Ships, but they have done nothing to justify destroying them. Could destroy the bloated Bohemian kingdom, but they were the first county to let me trade in a Europe COT.

The French would be a easy victim, due to their weak navy but they been very restrained. Still a few game hours away from naval 26 which would take a few days to play.

Wow, you've done a great job! Loving it. Hopefully you'll be able to catch up to the Europeans by the 17th century!

Have caught up with the Latins in both Government and Naval now. Trade is only 1 level behind and could make it up very quick if I wanted to. Did past Holland and gained the top government spot for a few years but they are a tech freak and have overtaken me again. Kind of the Ceylon of the Latin world.

cotm.jpg

Can easily mint half of my income without gaining inflation. Can gain a massive 123 ducats a month when required. Most of the time 98% of that would be going straight into research. A large fleet of Wargalleons are being built in the two new shipyards.

niselections.jpg

My selection of NI. I got all that I need now. Excellent shipwrights is not important but decided it was the best choice to replace National Bank with.

worldnavy.jpg

The worlds Navy at the time Ceylon starts the construction of her great fleet.

This would probably be my last update for today. Tomorrow war begins.

Once my war fleet is complete I suspect I could.

Unless the evil alliance of Castille, Portugal and Arragon breaks, France is going to be the first European power to be destroyed. Could even be done before 1700 with a bit of luck.

What's your strategy? Blockade all of France for as long as it takes to collapse it?

I have less then 2000 manpower, so can not really relay on regulars. If the situation presents itself I would try a few sieges. Indian units are terrible at the best of times so can not expect to much from my land forces.

Rebels would be my main army. If I feel the need I can always rush land 18 and get Rajput Maskteers.

Upon arrival in Europe, the admiral of Ceylons grand fleet discovered the barbaric country of the French had collapsed into civil war. Merchants and Spies reports told that the Alliance between Castille, Portugal and Arragon is a real threat to the security of Ceylons trade.

On the 1st of August 1681 war was declared on the country of Norway, the reason given was the continue supplying of inferior quality furs and skins, but the main purpose was to trick Norway to activate its alliance and call Castille to their Aid. So begins the first war of Ceylonese Aggression.
