Ethos also has other effects. It allows for certain government effects, edicts, and influences what policies are best for your empire. Looking at just these bonuses oversimplifies things somewhat, I'd say.

Those individualist pops aren't going to stay materialist for long because of the ethics divergence.I do hope some combinations are more powerful than others. For example, being fanatic individualist, materialist and natural engineers to quickly get robot pops/armies and have plenty of energy credits to maintain them.
The only ethos that seems underpowered is pacifist. Looks like the most boring one and easily rendered obsolete by tech.
Unlocks some pretty interesting governments though. Moral democracy with +10% global happiness seems impressive.
Don't forget to take communal and adaptable with that ;pFanatic Spiritual + Pacifist / Moral Democracy : Disney-Volume, the Happiest Place in the Galaxy.
Except food is one of the best resources in the game, so that +10% food is kind of crazy. +10% food is 10% less people needed to sustain the population. After a certain critical mass of people you will basically be able to unassign POPs from food and effectively get a resource type of your choice. And Army damage is not Ship damage. I think pacifism is far stronger than militarist. The -% upkeep governments might offset it, but pacifism also has strong governments. The only ethos that seems underpowered is pacifist. Looks like the most boring one and easily rendered obsolete by tech.
