First, I would like to just say what an enjoyable game this is. It's a definite improvement over the standard HOI (except for two flaws, one being the lack of diacritics on the map, the other the lack of scenarios set during WWII, the interwar period, and a grand campaign) and so far I've had only one bad experience playing it. Which leads me to the subject at hand.

I think the Treaty of Versailles events didn't fire properly during my current game. I'm playing Germany in the Great War scenario, and thanks to patience and almost constantly attacking in one place on each front, I'd managed to reach Paris, Vichy and Marseille by May of 1916. I expected the event shown in the beta-preview AAR thread to fire, but instead the French had an event without choices that led to a white peace. Is this event supposed to simulate an armistice, and fire before the actual peace treaty event, or are my files corrupted somehow?

Yes it is, if you continue playing for some weeks a real peace event should fire where you could chose between different magnitudes of punishment. If that event doesn't fire, something is wrong.

Probably the most asked question. Just like real life, armistice comes first.
Remember that in reality the armistice was signed in November 1918, but the peace treaty was signed only in May 1919.

Thanks. Now all I have to do is beat the Russians and the Serbs properly; when I accepted peace terms from the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, I didn't realise they were the alliance leader. Why doesn't Russia become alliance leader after their declaration of war? I hardly think that if Serbia signed a peace treaty with Germany, Russia would cease the fighting as well.
