Censored Hitler question

Sorry if this has been answered already, I did not find it in the many threads on this topic. Also before people start flinging accusation of being a nazi sympathizer: I just don't want dark blotches on my game. If the game used zero portraits I wouldn't go around asking for pictures of Hitler but as it stands the censorship is quite unaesthetic in my opinion.

I assume the DLC that comes with the game if I buy it in Germany can't be removed without a mode (otherwise what's the point?).

I currently live in Germany, but I haven't updated my Steam profile and I'm still listed as from France. What do I need to do to not get the censorship:
* nothing, if my Steam profile is in France I'm fine?
* use a French credit card to buy the game?
* download the game while I'm physically in France?
* there's no hope, as soon as I connect to Steam from Germany it will auto-download the DLC?

Well if you live in Germany you fall under German law. Any attempt to bypass the censorship is against the law and therefor you can be prosecuted for that by the German government. Paradox will not support you in trying to brake the law. So this thread will probably be closed soon, and if someone makes a mod like the one you ask, it probably won't be available in the steam workshop, since then steam would activly support people breaking the law.

You can ofcourse disagree with the law, but that is not something Paradox or Steam is a part of or have a role in. So they will probably just obey the law.
