I have noticed a large decline in this trait ever since one of the recent patches reducing its possibilities to occur.

I miss it, as I really liked for my King to become celibate after his beloved wife died (I never remarry)

Sometimes I get an event saying that my person believes there will never be a person that can replace his recently deceased wife, with an option to become celibate, but depressed. Does anyone know if this event occurs only with wives who one is "in love (as in fallen in love)" with? Or will it ever occur over a large period of time if I never remarry?

My current king is in his mid thirties and his wife died a "natural death" at 33. This could be a very long time without remarrying, so I am curious if there is any events that will get a king celibate if he does not marry for an extended period of time.

(I know about the hedoism/celibacy event trail, but it does not fire that often and sometimes it just sits at it without ever granting the full celibacy)

Ive seen that one happen once I think.
Also about the celibacy, I'm afraid I dont have any experience with that, my wives tend to out live my characters.
And unless I get the 'lovers' event I will remarry.

+1 for not remarrying. In general too, loyalty in love is so underrated nowadays. Its silly and it should go beyond death. Nice to see people would actually take that into their gameplay.

I'm neutral about the rest. Its just a game and it probably has some underlying balance stuff that required a change in the first place. You can always use a cheat to add that trait to your own character to suit your gameplay - which I suggest.

No, THAT's silly. Ridiculously silly. Also impossible; how would it go beyond death?

Well... all you need is a shovel.

In all seriousness though you could just trigger that event chain yourself after your wife dies if you really want it. I believe it's 5066.
