I'm a bit late to the party for Arma 1.2. How do I install this wonderful mod onto it? Do I need to put anything into the Armageddon folder?
Thanks!

EDIT: Actually this might be a stupid question. Was I supposed to install Armageddon directly on top of Doomsday? Why aren't the anthology installers defaulted like that?

The underlying question is: Why do extra manpower events exist at all when the engine doesn't give you manpower from "oversea provinces" during wars at the same time? Either all should get it, then the engine is wrong and there's no need for events, or there shouldn't be an exclusive event for Japan. Why the extra rule?
Ask Paradox they added these events, i really dont know. Perhaps at some point Japan AI was underperforming and needed help. But as long as Paradox keeps them in CDCP do to.

Would really appreciate this since the outcome of the SCW is designed to be approks. 50/50, when france and UK stays out and the rest intervene we need quite a lott games before anything can be said definitely.

Well I actually did manage to get some time to run some tests. :D

Setup was: Clean Doomsday + Armageddon + Arma 1.2 patch + CDCP 0.51
No other modifications then the following:
ITA, GER & SOV 100% chance to intervene, FRA & UK 0% chance to intervene.

Played as Panama, did a save May 30th and reloaded and run the tests from there.

First I ran 10 tests without handicap and passive modifiers:

End of SCW --- Winner

Feb 27th -37 --- SPR
Nov 20th -36 --- SPR
Sep 20th -37 --- SPR
Oct 30th -37 --- SPR
Nov 12th -36 --- SPR
May 28th -38 --- SPR
Feb 13th -37 --- SPR
Dec 4th -36 --- SPR
Jul 4th -37 --- SPR
Apr 20th -37 --- SPR

Then another 10 with the default handicap and passive values:

May 27th -37 --- SPR
Mar 23rd -37 --- SPR
Mar 5th -37 --- SPR
Jun 25th -37 --- SPR
Dec 9th -36 --- SPR
Apr 21st -37 --- SPR
Jul 5th -37 --- SPA
Feb 9th -37 --- SPR
May 19th -37 --- SPR
May 18th -38 --- SPR

And finally 10 times with handicap/passive changed from SPR to SPA

Sep 1st -37 --- SPA
Jun 15th -37 --- SPR
Jun 5th -37 --- SPR
May 24th -37 --- SPR
Jan 2nd -37 --- SPA
Jun 2nd -37 --- SPA
May 26th -37 --- SPA
Aug 19th -37 --- SPR
Mar 7th -37 --- SPR
Dec 14th -36 --- SPA

That's the story so far, I'll see if I can manage to run a few more later.

Since you have the anthology, you need to install the mod into the Armageddon folder (or rename your Armageddon folder to Doomsday).
EDIT: Actually this might be a stupid question. Was I supposed to install Armageddon directly on top of Doomsday? Why aren't the anthology installers defaulted like that?
Because it is the anthology, it allows you to install each of the games (HOI1, ?HOI2?, Doomsday, Armageddon) separately. Since the patches forget this, they will default to the Doomsday folder and you will need to redirect them to the Armageddon folder.

I don't know anything about these "never a General" leaders, but I do know from going over the USA leader file again (and again, and again...) that PI regularly fudges ranks for the sake of having enough leaders with the Commando trait. Perhaps these fall into the same category?

Probably, anyways i wont remove any leaders from a country. Not unless they are dublicates or clearly belong to another country.

There are some pictures that needs attention in that list though.

Will look at it this evening and then hopefully be able to upload version 0.52. Simply did not have the time yesterday.

Will look at i this evening and then hopefully be able to version 0.52. Simply did not have the time yesterday.

What I point is that:
These leaders are duplicates:
von Beyer / ID = 275 / L275 / same as ID = 982
von Eberbach / ID = 291 / L291 / same as ID = 53
Auffenberg-Komarow / ID = 584 / L584 / same as ID = 988

and those leaders never achieved a general's rank:
Fischer M. / ID = 59 / Oberleutnant (rank in WWII)
Haase A. / ID = 100 / Oberst (rank in WWII)
Mόller A. / ID = 203 / Oberstleutnant (rank in WWII) / Brigadegeneral (in Bundeswehr) 31/03/75 retired from Bundeswehr

If you don't delete any of them who never achieved a general's rank is OK with me. But the duplicates should be removed IMHO.

Deleted the 3 dublicate leaders keept the low number version. Renamed Von Beyer to Beyer F. there is no Von in his name.

Axis History forum has a picture of a Generalleutnant Alfred Haase. Same picture used by Paradox, not much else i could find on him. Havent found info on the two others.

Is End Year for leaders working? If not then what about Kesselring?

Code:
Name ID	Rank_3	Rank_2	Rank_1	Rank_0	Max_Sk	Traits	Skill	Type	Pict.	Start_Y.End_Y.
Kesselring	157	1930	1930	1930	1930	9	2	4	0	L157	1943	1960
Kesselring	451	1930	1930	1937	1940	9	16384	4	2	L451	1930	1943

He is very special in the game (well, IRL too) - start like an air general and after 1943 he become army general but since then we have him twice. How about an event fired on january 1943 with 2 options:
- keep him as he is (air general) - sleep 157
- move him to the army - sleep 451
?

Do not keep (ID=275) von Beyer because he has Panzer Leader trait.
Beyer, Franz was an Offizier der Infanterie -promoted to General der Infanterie.
Keeping ID = 982 is more historically correct.
Moreover, there was no Auffenberg-Komarow (ID=584). His name was Adolf-Auffenberg-Komarow, Gustav (ID=988). Since 19.02.1923 his name was Adolph, Gustav.
But he was an Offizier der Infanterie -promoted to Generalleutnant. So keep ID=584 but put the correct name Adolf-Auffenberg-Komarow.

general Vlassov

If it’s not much of a problem can you look into this Andrei Andréievich Vlassov.
In the game he is named just Vlassov
He is supposed to defect from USSR via the Molotov pact and it is crash in the available date at the leader list. Just look in the editor or something. I have made him defect from ussr in 42 and made his start year for Germany in 43.

The picture is indeed of Alfred Haase, but it is not correct that he was a Generalleutnant. He only achieved the rank of Oberst in WWII.
He was an Offizier der Pioniere.

Did you remove him from 1936\germany.inc dormant leaders list too? I'm asking because of the buged wakeleader command.

The file is \Doomsday\scenarios\1936\germany.inc. Open it in text editor and search for this:
Code:
   dormant_leaders        = { 544 545 546 547 548 549 550 551 552 553 554 555 556 557 558 559 560 561 562 563 564 565 566 567 568 569 570 571 572 573 574 575 576 577 578 [COLOR=DarkOrange]579[/COLOR] }
His ID is 579. If he is in dormant_leaders list he'll never be available in game... At least until wakeleader command is broken.

He is very special in the game (well, IRL too) - start like an air general and after 1943 he become army general but since then we have him twice. How about an event fired on january 1943 with 2 options:
- keep him as he is (air general) - sleep 157
- move him to the army - sleep 451
?
End year has indeed been disabled, now the only way a leader will "die" is by event or during combat.

And there is really no reason NOT to have him available as both an Air and Land leader...look at the Japan lists, they have some officers that fill all three posts.

That's the story so far, I'll see if I can manage to run a few more later.
I ran 10 test games this evening. CDCP 0.52 ;) N/N
100 % for the usual suspects and 0 for UK and france. With no change to passivity and handicap parameters in SCW AI.

SPA won 4 times and SPR won 6 times. I did however discover one thing. Nationalist spains convoy system breaks down in many cases which leads to a lott of their forces are out of supplies. SPA starts with 66 convoys as far as i have seen. This is enough for a 1 convoy going to Sevilla if their is not to many units there. Sometimes 98 convoys are needed.

If SPR gets Madrid in start event then it usualy ends with SPA holding 3 seperate areas of spain. NW spain around La Curuna, NE spain around Barcelona & around Sevilla. If that happens the SPA convoy system always breaks down leading to both units in barcelona and sevilla area being out of supplies. Which usually leads to superfast win by SPR.

I think the solution could be that Italy and germany in their intervention event give SPA some convoys which they loose again after the war is over. This is to simulate the supplies and the logistic support given to Nat. Spain from these two countries. Perhaps reduce the actual supplies given from ITA & GER to nat spain from 5k to 3K-4K instead. So all in all they get less supplies but more logistic support. Would probably have to give spain 25 convoy ships from both GER and ITA. by giving them it in these two events we still have the result if GER or ITA chooses not to intervene SPA gets hit rather hard by that.

Any comments ?

Do not keep (ID=275) von Beyer because he has Panzer Leader trait.
Beyer, Franz was an Offizier der Infanterie -promoted to General der Infanterie.
Keeping ID = 982 is more historically correct.
Moreover, there was no Auffenberg-Komarow (ID=584). His name was Adolf-Auffenberg-Komarow, Gustav (ID=988). Since 19.02.1923 his name was Adolph, Gustav.
But he was an Offizier der Infanterie -promoted to Generalleutnant. So keep ID=584 but put the correct name Adolf-Auffenberg-Komarow.
sigh...I wish you would have told me all this in the first place. Now i will have to edit it again.

EDIT: OK, Auffenberg-Komarow ID=584 no trait is deleted. Adolf-Auffenberg-Komarow ID 988 fortressbuster is keept. Both Beyer F. 982 Off & Deff doc. & Von Beyer ID 275 Pnz leader are kept. I have decided since both traits and skills are different they both stay. Von Beyer is someone else with wrong picture, or Franz Beyer's long lost twin. ;) I bet someone is going to kill me what ever i do. Besides Germany can use all its Panzer leaders.

Agree. He will not be changed.

If it’s not much of a problem can you look into this Andrei Andréievich Vlassov.
In the game he is named just Vlassov
He is supposed to defect from USSR via the Molotov pact and it is crash in the available date at the leader list. Just look in the editor or something. I have made him defect from ussr in 42 and made his start year for Germany in 43.
hmm Vlassov...What to do..what to do. We can't just fix him for Germany without sleeping him for soviets. To avoid Vlassov fighting Vlassov in Kursk 43. On the other hand we want Vlassov to be available for Soviets and only sleep him if Germany & soviets go to war and the red bastards are being pushed back. If iam not mistaken he was captured somewhere between moscow and Leningrad. So to fix him we should change the bugged wake leader command in Mol-Rib pagt to setting a flag signaling historical pagt. Make a GER event that triggers if germany hold one province up around Leningrad, could be made as an "or" sentence. So it could be just one out of a list of provinces. The event should use the add_corps command so Germany steals the Soviet Vlassov with skills and traits. Thereby removing him from soviet at the same time. If we add a leader = [leader id] condition to the trigger we can make sure it only triggers if he is still alive. If that leader = ID command works that is. Any comments to this solution ?

Waiting to release 0.52 to above issues are resolved.
