Cheers for clearing that up, lived in Scotland all my life and had never heard of 'Pictland', now see it's just a renamed thing to make it easier for Paradox.
Most likely supposed to represent the difference between the Picts and Scots (pretty sure that the Pictish name for Scotland was just Scotland in Pictish

I don't think anyone ever knew what the Picts called their confederation. I do like how Paradox made Dal Riata Irish instead of Scottish, since Pictland was historically conquered by Irishmen. Scottish is supposed to be a mish-mash of Irish and Pictish I believe...

Probably, but always must remember, at this point in time the Scots were only just coming back from Ireland (having gone from one side of the sea to the other for the past thousand years or so) and that Scotland didn't exist in any form.
Scottish is a mish-mash of much more than just Picts and Irishmen, you have the Gaels, Norwgians, Cumbrians, Irish, Picts, Angles, and many more assorted southerners. Still though it's not as bad as down south, theirs is made of up of uncountable influences.
Because ther are such rules, and no another, I will not exploit or anything like that.

Am pretty sure that Pictish becomes Scottish when you get at least 51% of Ireland as a Pictish ruler. Same like you get english when a Norman rules over England (I think) or Norse breakes down when there is no norse empire.
Aye, just like the Mongols, only on boats, and peaceful (mainly), and not destroying everything in their paths (unless their path leads to the pub!).

Interesting how the cultures get created, because in not one of my games has the Picts ever bothered to cross over into Ireland.
