Can we get all the space alien races from Aqua Teen Hunger Force? I don't want to play as them, I just want them to show up as random races.

I have never been able to wrap my head around 3D. Even sculpting with clay gives me fits ;) I just tell people I'm too shallow for 3D work, and stick to my 2D art :p

In so far as learning digital painting, there's tons of reference stuff on line for that. I know people who use photoshop and / or painter (I'm a Corel Painter guy myself), but the main thing that I tell my students is to spend time doing observational drawing first. Grab a sketchbook, printer paper, whatever, and just draw. Go to the zoo, get friends to pose for you, put some fruit on the table, and just draw. Once you're comfortable with that, you'll need to pick up a tablet of some sort (I use a wacom), and then get used to the hand/eye coordination of working on screen. From there, again, tons of reference online for that. You can find a bunch on Pinterest and Deviant art if you search painting tutorials. From there, again, it's just practice! :)

I've dabbled with it a bit, it can really mess with your head if you're not used to it.

I'm terrible at drawing, I've tried a few times. The results were unpleasant to look at. :p

I REALLY like how your species look more genuinely alien in that they aren't clear cut phenotypes of reptile, bird, etc but are more fusion species, particularly the Ithaqgha which looks like a cool Reptile-Insectoid fushion and the Nyarlakhee which kind of looks like a reptile/dragon-worm-aquatic fusion thing. This isn't to say I dislike the phenotypes, but I like that your stuff breaks the categories.

The Murrundal I particularly like for being alien enough where I can't tell what it is based off (or if it is based off anything).

I hope you get your job! :D (no seriously, I want to see stuff like this in the actual game and not just mods lol)

Well, it's like anything else. Do it ugly till you do it beautiful ;)

Hey, thanks for the kind words! :)
I use a slightly different categorization for the species than what PDI uses - Carnivore/Omnivore/Scavenger/Herbivore with some subclassifications. I try to lean as heavily as I can on science, and since biology is pretty well understood, I pull heavily from there. PDI's phenotypes work fine for the game, but I wanted to go in a slightly different direction, hence the mod :)

And, thanks for the well wishes - a lot of work to go before I can seriously approach them, I think! :)

Nice! I thought the they looked a but cutesy before, but with the redesign I noticed that the eyes aren't actually the green things on the top, but the dark spots (white in the original) right above the outer fangs, and they suddenly look a lot more sinister. What exactly are the green orbs then?

Also, haha at their body shape being a pool of pudge minus the back tail. Hutts unite! :D

EDIT: Since each race has their own names, are you planning to include preset empires of them with the mod? Or are you just focused on the portraits as of now and that will come later? We (the forumbase) can help with ethos and stuff! :)

Actually, you were right the first time - what you're seeing as the eyes now are what I thought of as "secondary" eye, just with some darkening around them. Probably for mating display or territorial threat display ;)

A few, maybe? I want players to use the races as they see fit! :)

Wow! These are super nice. Hope to see more of your work and will definitely include them in my playthroughs once they are finished.
Thanks! I'm kicking out one or so every few days! :)

Very talented.
Thank you! :)

I want Surströmming aliens!
... gak!

Cheers all,
~S

Can you make one that's gaseous and/or ethereal, or made of particles
I could, but probably not for this mod at this time, as that's a little outside the scope of what I'm doing here. My focus is to make it alien, but also keep it within the realm of possibility as much as possible. :)

You finished the Nyggoth, and it looks better than I had hoped! Well done!
Thanks! Glad you liked them! :)
