Even the AI has enough sense to attack non-fortified provinces first.

Sometimes, anyway.

If you hold one or more CB provinces, the AI will *always* (in my experience) try to get those back first, since that's why it went to war with you anyway. By the same token I'd like to see large stability hits for any player demanding land in a tribute and not including his core province in the demand. After all, the only reason the public supported you was to get that specific province back.

This is interesting - say you started a war with a computer country, and took lots of provinces from it - 2 of them being your home territory, and having CB shield on them.

If the computer offers peace, does he then automatically offer those 2 countries, or does he just pick 2 (cheap) ones?

I cereval things about computer involved in peace agrements.

1- They always want the fearthest province from their main land.

2- They usually don't want to give away their CoTs.

3- They are very pig headed, like you control half of their contry, you want 3 provinces, and they alwayts refuse.

4- They refuse your peace offer, a week later they come back with the exact same offer.

5- when they take one province from you, they ask for it and 500d

And the comp just offer any province, they don't care witch one it is

A new Csus Belli question

Hej!

I have another (stupid?) question about Casus Belli.
If I (Sweden) take a province from Denmark, Denmark has Casus Belli towards me. But if another country, France, takes that province from me, what then? Does Denmark still has Casus Belli towards me, or is it France now, or towards both me (Sweden) and France? Or do I have Casus Belli towards France?
(Do you say her or it about a country?)

Lev väl.

They hold CB's against the owner of that province. So if France takes Jylland by example, Denmark will have a permanent CB against France. The permanent CB's are not country related but territory related

Except for the religious ones (Sunni against Shia, Shia against Sunni, Spain against damn near everyone) or the trade-embargo ones, which - amazingly enough - only apply while the embargo is in force :D

On the diplomatic map, you can see your own core provinces marked with your shield - you hold a CB against whoever owns one or more of them. Ditto for every other country, but you can't actually see which province it is they hate you for.... it's usually pretty obvious though. But not always.

Ah yes sorry I forgot about the religious ones... Same applies for Counter Reformed countries against non-catholic countries in Europe. They hold a CB against them till the Edict of Tolerance

Denamrk has a CB against France alone now. Sweden has a CB against neither.

If Permanent Cassus Belli is never permanent, then it is wrong to call them "permanent". Paradox should change the name to something more accurate. ;)

Indefinite, maybe. But Permanent is a good enough name ... they are not temporary. They are permanent until event X happens, which may never happen at all.
