Castration does not break betrothal.

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
Why? A castrated person can still get married, and even if there won't be children, it can still be a valuable ally or courtier?
Castrated people can not get married in the current game mechanics, outside of betrothals. Since only humans use betrothals this only affects those people.
