A note about dp sliders: You will having lose one stability when moving you sliders. However some government types also have preferred sliders, which is the red mark you may see, if you move your slider past that red mark you'll have some bad effects.

It would be real nice if I could see the date/time of a saved game when I go to load it too, I dont understand why this basic functionality is lacking.

The date is shown just under the savegame name...

If you're worried about a surprise attack, give them military access. They then need to cancel it before they can attack you, giving you 30 days warning.
